Reuniting families with pets making complex journeys

Since the start of the year we've been involved in reuniting families with pets making complex journeys. Some of these families have waited weeks or even months to see their beloved pets again. Archie, Suzia and Jasiu, 3 dogs from South Africa to the UK This fabulous family of three hounds flew from Johannesburg to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. We collected them at the airport's Pet Hotel for their onward journey to the UK and a happy reunion with Mark. Jack Russell Jasiu, Dachshund Archie and Cocker Spaniel Suzia Mark shared this great photo of his [...]

Behind the scenes at Animalcouriers — keeping pets on the move

Now that we've turned the page on the challenging year that was 2020, we thought we'd give you a sneak peak behind the scenes at Animalcouriers. It's also an opportunity for our directors to give a shout out to the whole team, who've shown phenomenal dedication, creativity and even courage to keep pets on the move. Our office team. When Covid struck, our office team — Lesley, Theresa and Natalie — had to become used to working from home. They've worked flat out, dealing with an increase in enquiries that often finds them at their desks in the evenings and [...]

Trips with gorgeous puppies and kittens

Over the past few weeks we've made a number of trips with gorgeous puppies and kittens, as lockdown-related travel restrictions made it difficult for owners to do their own collections. Bella, a puppy from Swansea to London Nicki contacted us when Wales entered lockdown, which prevented her from collecting new puppy Bella herself. Courier Richard did the honours and delivered Bella to her happy family in London. Beautiful Bella at her new London home Yitzhak, a kitten from France to the UK Erhi was on the waiting list for a kitten from a breeder in France, and asked [...]

Six Tibetan Terrier puppies from West Yorkshire

Courier Ricardo headed to Wakefield in West Yorkshire to collect six Tibetan Terrier puppies from breeder Heather. As a responsible breeder, Heather usually insists that new owners collect their puppies in person. Under the Covid-19 lockdown, however, she knew this wasn't possible. So she contacted Animalcouriers, as we are Defra-registered hauliers, to discuss the possibility of us delivering the puppies. Heather interviewed us in depth and checked our credentials before agreeing to entrust her beautiful puppies to us for transport. We also had calls with the puppies' new owners, who wanted to know details of the trip. We were pleased that everyone [...]

Slugs and snails and puppy dogs’ tails

Well, everything except the slugs… We're celebrating Easter by reporting on a recent UK trip made by courier Paul. Because private travel is quite restricted in the UK at the moment, we've had a number of requests recently to transport puppies between breeders and owners. We were also really excited to get involved in moving some rather fascinating snails between Edinburgh and London Zoos. Read on to find out more! In the meantime, we wish all our clients, friends and followers a very happy Easter. Storm, a Sproodle puppy from Wales to Scotland Gorgeous Sproodle pup Storm travelled with us [...]

Covid-19 coronavirus: update for pet owners

Since Covid-19 coronavirus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), we wanted to provide an update for pet owners about pet travel at this time. Animalcouriers has taken UK government advice and, for the time being, there's no change to essential pet travel — for example, if you're moving house and we're transporting your pets for you. Naturally, we're concerned for the health and safety of our couriers. So in areas where a lockdown is in force, or there's a significant pocket of Covid-19 infection, we may ask clients to meet us on the open road, [...]
