Animalcouriers can arrange pet travel by air for you. We can do as much or as little of the organisation as you want, to fit in with your personal travel plans, your budget, and your animals’ needs. Complementary services include airport collection and delivery, quarantine services and boarding for your animal at either end of the journey.

our air freight services
Animalcouriers is an accredited IATA cargo agent. This means we have partnership status with all airlines that provide pet air travel and offer competitive rates. Whether it’s a direct flight or a more complex journey — say, from Spain to New Zealand via London — we can organise it for you.
We can usually book pets onto the same flight as you, or on a flight that lands at a similar time, so that you can avoid an extra trip to the airport. We also offer airport collection and delivery services in the UK, France and Spain.
We can provide an experienced animal courier to accompany animals on flights; or we can charter private aircraft for you and your pets.
boarding and quarantine
We can organise boarding for your pet at either end of the trip, to bridge any gaps in dates. Whenever possible, this will be our own home boarding service or a kennels or cattery that we know and like.
If your pet needs to go into quarantine in the UK, Animalcouriers can help you arrange quarantine accommodation and provide transport services. If your pet is waiting for its pet passport to become valid before entering the UK, we can advise on other boarding options as a legal alternative to quarantine. Find out more about our quarantine services.
pet export and import documentation
You can find out most of what you need to know about export and import documentation from our page about pet passports and other documents, and from Defra’s pet travel scheme web pages and the IATA website’s tips for shipping your pets.
We can offer guidance and advice, for example on Defra requirements and travel healthchecks, or we can complete the formalities on your behalf.
Animalcouriers can also arrange clearance for animals arriving into the UK; and can provide transport to their destination as part of the package.
The Australian and New Zealand government websites provide information about import requirements to those countries:
travel boxes
Animals travelling by air must have a suitable travel box. We can provide standard plastic travel boxes or custom-made wooden travel boxes to suit all species, that meet IATA guidelines. We’ll ask you for your pet’s dimensions and weight so that we can make sure it has the right size travel box.
