Animalcouriers managed to get spaces on repatriation flights for three dogs to the Cayman Islands and three puppies to Bermuda. You can read their stories below, and enjoy a look back at some of the stories of other pets who flew to the Caribbean and the United States in the months before lockdown.
Storm, Sadie and Myla from South Africa to the Cayman Islands
Claire’s dogs Storm, Sadie and Myla travelled from South Africa to the UK in January, where they stayed for three months before meeting the Cayman Islands’ strict entry requirements.
Poor Claire thought her plans for an April reunion with her beloved dogs had been scuppered by the Covid-19 shutdown. But with the help of Aimee at Must Love Dogs and Animalcouriers, the dogs were allocated space on one of BA’s ad hoc flights to Grand Cayman. We turned the paperwork and health documents around in record time to ensure the dogs could fly.
Reunited with her dogs, Claire wrote to say: “I cannot recommend Animalcouriers enough. With very little time for error or even to plan, they managed to get my 3 girls from the UK to the Cayman Islands on a repatriation flight during this Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you!!! we appreciate it so much.”

Stormy, Belle and Chelsea from the UK to Bermuda
BA was great in finding space for three super young pups on another ad hoc flight, this time to Bermuda. Originally due to fly just before the shutdown, Rottie Stormy, Golden Retriever Belle and Yorkshire Terrier Chelsea had to homeboard until a flight became available.

Courier R delivered the trio to Heathrow bright and early, ready to be loaded into their travel boxes for the flight
Ginnal, who spent a holiday in the UK
Handsome Vizsla Ginnal travelled from the Cayman Islands to the UK to visit family. We helped to arrange his flight home. Owner George wrote to say: “The boy is back and quite happy, fortunately the flight was on time, they processed him quickly and the box was massive which was great.”

George sent a wonderful photo of Ginnal on his morning beach walk, commenting: “I hear it’s raining over there so he’ll be happy to be away from another European winter.”
Puppies and dogs from the UK to the Cayman Islands
Animalcouriers had the pleasure of arranging flights for puppies and frequent flyers to the Cayman Islands. Alfold Vets helped with the export paperwork for the pups.

Jack and Jill, a pair of mischievous Jack Russell Terriers

Jack and Jill’s owner Sarah told us: “They are doing great! They seem so happy here. They love the beach, have been in my pool and out to lunch with me. Everywhere seems very dog friendly.”

Dogs and a cat from the UK to Bermuda
We’ve helped to organise travel from the UK to Bermuda for a number of dogs and a cat.

Here’s adorable Havanese Bailey, getting used to her travel box before flying

Puppies Pearl and Reef. Reef is a few weeks older and travelled to Bermuda ahead of Pearl. Owner Amanda tells us: “Pearl is doing well. Reef is totally smitten by her and I am now ‘chop liver’ to him 🙂 He only has eyes for her. Pearl totally thinks she is the boss of Reef and has him on his belly while she is biting his neck. I think he loves it though 😉 Thank you for all you have done for the puppies!”

Delightful Rosie, a young Burmese

Rosie joined Chico, whose journey to Bermuda we arranged a few months earlier. Owner Liz wrote to say: “Introductions to Chico are going well and, even though she is barely a quarter of his size, it’s already evident who is going to be ruling the roost! Thanks so much for making the process as stress-free as possible!”
Two dogs and two cats from Saint Kitts to Bermuda
We helped a family mastermind the move from Saint Kitts to Bermuda for their two dogs and two cats. To meet Bermuda’s entry requirements, but without a lengthy wait and more complex process, the pets flew to London Gatwick with BA, secured their UK export paperwork, then flew out a few days later from London to Bermuda.
While they waited for their flights, the dogs enjoyed winter walks with family members in the New Forest, and the cats stayed warmly tucked up with Animalcouriers.
Owner Tina is a photographer, and we’re delighted to share some of her stunning photos of her pets.

Cats and dogs fly from London to the US
Travellers to the United States included gorgeous Bengal cats Opal and Onyx, who moved for London to New York. Although the cats are F5 generation Bengals, the US Fish and Wildlife Service still required additional paperwork when the cats entered the country. With help from Pet Chauffeur in New York City and their patient customs broker, Matt, we secured the correct paperwork and clearances, and the cats were cleared quickly from their BA flight in JFK airport.
Owner Aurelia sent photos of the cats settling in, saying: “Big thanks for getting our Opal and Onyx safely to New York!!!! We’re over the moon. They seem remarkably well. Both won’t shut up and are busy exploring their new place! Tails are up 🙂 Thanks for all your help, especially with all the paperwork required! It was all seamless really but imagine there’s lots that goes on behind the scenes!”

Enjoying the high-level view
When Boomer and Cocoa’s family decided it was time to return from London to San Francisco, we worked with Allpets to get everything organised. Owner S was nervous about the move but with lots of reassurance from Animalcouriers and Debbie at Allpets, the duo arrived safely.

We arranged for Goldendoodle Wallace to fly with Virgin from London to Atlanta for a reunion with his family in Alabama.

Your passengers are all so beautiful and happy!
I love Lily’s ears! They remind me of Sister Bertrille, the Flying Nun. 🙂
How did we ever miss out on the Flying Nun? 😀 She does though!
Love those faces
Aren’t they lovely.
Reuniting families must be an amazingly rewarding experience – you all seem to do that with “outwardly” seamless grace but we know behind the scenes there’s so much going on! Good job!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
You’re right, behind the scenes can sometimes be somewhat less calm 😉
I never dreamed that there were so many animals flying about over our heads until I started to read your posts.
Makes you wonder. My brother works for a company that flies whole herds of pigs (disease free) around the world.
Working your miracles as always, AC! Pandemic or not. Lily is just too wild for words. 🙂 –Curt
We really fell for Lily when we saw that photo!
I’m so glad you could get them safely to where they needed to be. It must be lovely to see the happy faces!
We love it when we get photos from our air passengers at their destinations.

Thanks Sheila. Although the world seems turned on its head at the moment, pets still need to travel. We are relieved to be able to get them where their peeps need them.
