19 Chihuahuas relocating from England to Bulgaria

Couriers Huw and Tom set off with 19 Chihuahuas relocating from Lancashire to Bulgaria. Joanna is a breeder of Chihuahuas who keeps her dogs as family. She's a long-time Animalcouriers client — over the years, we've moved quite a number of her lovely puppies to worldwide destinations. So when Joanna and her husband Simon decided to relocate from Lancashire to Bulgaria, she asked us to move her 19 little dogs on her behalf. Also along for the ride was Golden Retriever Rocco. Collecting Ukrainian pets in Poland and Germany

Animalcouriers is just back from collecting Ukrainian pets in Poland and Germany for their journeys to the UK. Also on board were a dog and two cats relocating from Estonia to the UK. Stop press: people fleeing Ukraine can now bring their pets to the UK

This blog post was updated on 21 April 2022. The UK government has put emergency support in place for people fleeing Ukraine so that they can now bring their pets to the UK. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) issued a press release late yesterday, 15 March. Key points: The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is providing quick approvals to expedite the emergency licence process and quarantine arrangements. The government will cover the costs of any necessary stays in quarantine for the pets of those fleeing Ukraine, as well as the costs of microchipping and vaccination. [...]

Our first Ukrainian pet passenger, Funtik the chinchilla

Animalcouriers recently transported our first Ukrainian pet passenger, Funtik the chinchilla. Funtik and his owner, Daria, fled from Ukraine at the start of the Russian invasion. They crossed the border into Poland and made their way by train to Düsseldorf in Germany, where Daria has a family member. There, Funtik received a clean bill of health and was issued with a small animal export certificate, allowing him to travel to the UK. Information for people leaving Ukraine with their pets

The situation for people leaving Ukraine with their pets is evolving. Poland, for example, is allowing all pets into the country, whether or not they have microchips, rabies vaccinations or any form of pet passport. Other EU countries are accepting pets at border crossings and many are taking the same approach as Poland. They're making exceptions to their usual rules about dogs, cats and ferrets needing microchips, rabies vaccinations and pet passports. In some cases, the arrival country is microchipping and vaccinating such pets on arrival.
