From Scotland to France: three dogs, three rabbits and a chinchilla

Deb and Ian used to run a B&B near picturesque Loch Lomond. Now they're off to do the same in France's delightful Dordogne region. They had quite the menagerie in Scotland: three Cairn Terriers, three rabbits, a chinchilla, alpacas, horses and hens. All the pets are making the move apart from the hens. Deb was sad not to take them to France, but felt that leaving them behind — however reluctantly — was the right decision. She told us: "Blood tests etc would be a lot for the girls to go through when I know they will be well looked [...]

Dedicated trips to France and Italy; Cleo comes home after Christmas; and Hooper reaches Scotland

Just before we set off for a trip to the warmer climes of Spain and Portugal, here's a round-up of what's been happening lately on the road. Bella, Arven and Rusty head back to Brittany Bella, Arven and Rusty live in Brittany with Alan. When Alan recently visited family in the Wirral, his canine trio went too. For the return trip, however, Alan decided to take it a little easier, and asked us to transport his dogs for him. We're looking forward to meeting them all again later in the year when another trip to the Wirral is on the [...]

Bespoke trips for Max and Luka; Molly; Barney, Rowan and Tish; and news of another Luka and Poppy

When Alison and Victor relocated to the Dutch city of The Hague from the very top of Scotland, near Thurso, they asked Animalcouriers to help move Max and Luka, their two German Short-haired Pointers. We took the dogs to kennels initially, where they stayed for a few days until the family arrived in The Hague, at which point we delivered Max and Luka to a huge welcome. In the midst of all the packing and general hubbub of the move, the two dogs simply spooned and slept Max and Luka at their new home in the Netherlands [...]

Two bespoke trips: Bublik from Juan les Pins; and a family of six from Devon

In addition to our regular, shared road trips throughout Europe, Animalcouriers is also sometimes asked to do a bespoke trip, where we transport a pet (or group of pets) belonging to one family. Last week we collected tiny Bublik from storm-struck Juan les Pins in south-east France, to take him to his winter residence in London, where his owner is waiting for him. Completely oblivious to the weather conditions, Bublik set off on his travels very calmly. So calmly, in fact, he was sound asleep and snoring before we'd even left the driveway! Today it was the turn of a [...]

Hia flies in from Korea; and Dexter and Lucy head to France for the summer

Beautiful little Hia (short for Hyena) had a long journey from Korea to the UK. She left Korea at 08.00am and arrived in Paris 11 hours later. On the flight she sat next to her human mum, and was as good as gold. Animalcouriers collected Hia in Paris and drove her to Calais, where we boarded the Eurotunnel, courier S ensuring plenty of pampering along the way for this little girl. On arrival in the UK it was a short hop to Hia's new home in Surrey to be reunited with her family. It's all very exciting as a new [...]

Channel hopping with Jimmie, Millie, Ellis, Dooby, Lluvia and Mikey

While couriers J and M completed their return trip from Portugal to the UK, courier Mike was kept busy with a number of short hops across the channel. Meryl's cats Jimmie and Millie were due to join an earlier trip from the UK to France, but a problem with their passports meant their travel was delayed. They stayed at a cattery while their owners went on ahead. Once the passports were sorted, Courier Mike collected them from East Sussex and drove them to their new home in the Lot. Amanda contacted Animalcouriers as she was struggling to get herself and [...]

Sophia, Chiara and Georgia travel with us from the UK to France

Animalcouriers set off from the UK with three tabby cats on board, Sophia, Chiara and Georgia. They belong to Roger and his family, who have moved from a very rural location in Kent to an equally rural location near Montcuq in France. All three cats are quite senior ladies, around 18 years young, so Roger asked us to transport them on a dedicated journey so that they wouldn't be disturbed by any other pets. We're glad to report that all three took to travelling like pros and arrived in great spirits. Roger with Sophia, Chiara and Georgia at [...]
