While courier J flew to Athens to meet Milou and Buddy, courier M drove to Switzerland to collect Yana and Stefano’s beloved (big) dogs Fred and Betty.
Fred is a Dogue de Bordeaux and Betty Boop is a Great Dane. Both are very friendly and love people, as courier M discovered when he received a rapturous greeting!
The dogs originally moved with their owners from Italy to Switzerland, and now work is taking them to the UK.

Betty has a fine head

Fred has wonderful wrinkles

Betty enjoys a walk…

…as does Fred

Fred considering a ‘longest tongue’ bid
beautiful dogs and I do have a soft spot for dogues
They are rather splendid and Dogues are great leaners, you have to be ready for it 😉
I rescued one a while ago little knowing how strong they are!
You sure have to be in control 😉
Betty is so stately and Fred looks like a worrier. Beautiful dogs.
All those worry lines around their eyes can make them look concerned.
Love Fred’s tongue roll…ever since I worked for a vet years ago and we rescued a litter of Great Dane pups…I’ve been very partial to Great Danes…so handsome 🙂
It is impressive. Can understand your partiality to Great Danes, they are stunning beasts.
🙂
Betty Boop is beautiful and Fred is one handsome fellow. I’ll bet all the girls go wild over him.
We had a black Great Dane years ago. She had been abused and left for dead along the side of the road in the middle of winter. We took her in, named her Auby, nursed her back to health and she was a wonderful dog who lived almost 10 years after we rescued her (really old for a Dane). A psychic friend was visiting us long after Auby had passed on and the psychic said that she sensed a spirit of a large, black dog guarding the perimeter of our property. She had no way of knowing we had Auby or that she was buried on the property. The interesting thing about the spirit of Auby protecting us is that I have never seen a coyote on our property. I’ve seen them on the ditches, in the neighbors’ yards and standing on our road some yards from where they could walk right onto the property, but they never seem to come onto our property. One reason we end up with so many cats, raccoons, skunks, porcupine and other small animals on our property is that they know they are protected here.
Auby is paying you back handsomely for your kindness. How lovely that she’s still looking after you. She really did live a long time for a dane.
What gorgeous BIG dogs!
Pam
They are both enormous!
Beautiful dogs don’t usually see to many dogues.
They’re not that uncommon over this side of the pond.
Nice dogs 🙂

I think Fred needs to work on that tongue routine a bit more. 😉
Or perhaps we have to have the best tongue roll competition? He’s in for a shot at that 😉
Betty Boop! LOL! Totally adorable and I always loved the Betty Boop cartoon as well. Fred is so handsome and I would just hug and kiss him all day long. 😀
They are absolutely beautiful and I bet they had lots of fun travelling with you all. 😀
They were a gorgeous pair to travel with!
It takes all sorts.
Indeed.
The older I get, the more I appreciate wrinkled dogs. 🙂 Don’t think I have ever seen a dog make a round tongue like Fred. –Curt
They’re even more wrinkled when they’re babes 😉 May have to open another competition.
Laughing here… are we talking wrinkles or round tongues? 🙂 –Curt
Aren’t they so beautiful! Have a wonderful day.
They are. You too!
