Animalcouriers set off from the UK to Greece with a fine collection of pets on board.
Our first stop will be to reunite Pip and Tigger with their owners Robert and Helen, who’ve moved to Antibes in France. Robert and Helen originally asked us to take their dogs as far as Calais, where they would collect them and complete the journey by train. Ultimately, however, they decided it would be less stressful for Pip and Tigger to simply travel all the way with us by road. Both dogs are gorgeous and Helen and Robert will doubtless be waiting for them with a long red carpet rolled out!
Labradoodle Arya is travelling with us from Gloucester to Treviso in Italy, to rejoin her owner Stephanie and family. Arya speaks excellent Italian and is very fond of rice! She’ll be happy to be home with her family.
John brought cat Cleo to us from Brighton. He’s been taking care of her for Sean and Debbie who’ve moved to Croatia. They’re meeting us in Italy for a handover. When John and Cleo arrived, we realised Cleo didn’t have a currently recognised passport. We must thank Ian from Vet on the Hill in Caterham who kindly treated this technical omission as urgent. Within the hour Cleo was ready for the off!
Border Terriers Biscuit and Timmy are travelling with Giacomo the Maine Coon and Moomin the Ragdoll from Mill Hill in London to Lucca in Italy to rejoin Barry and family. The dogs have definitely made themselves known to all of us in the van. They’re a super friendly pair who monitor anyone (human or animal) who comes near the van, and show their approval (or not).
Lovely Lulu the guinea pig joined us in London. We’re meeting up with her owner Sonia near Florence to hand Lulu over.
Black-and-white cats Jasper and Daisy are travelling with us from Warwickshire to the lovely Greek island of Skiathos.
We collected Milly, Bruno’s much loved little Yorkie, from St Marys Vicarage in East London. Her journey started in South America and now she’s on her way to Athens to rejoin Bruno, who clearly thinks the world of her.
Greek Cretan Terrier Booby is travelling with us from Cambridge to Crete for the summer holidays, where owner Freya has a house.
On this trip courier J will be joined by courier Mike for the first leg. Like couriers J and M, he has an animal welfare background and used to work for the RSPCA. Now he’s discovering the joys of being an animal courier. In his other life he also operates a dog-walking service, and many hounds are lucky enough to have their daily walks with him and his colleagues.
It was great that they can travel with you and haven’t to use the train, it’s sometimes complicated, specially when your destination is NOT paris :o) Maybe I will meet Pip and Tigger once in the furs?
Yes, coping with two dogs and your baggage might be somewhat tricky! You never know Easy, they might be at one of your dog shows…
Sounds like a great road trip. I love all the different looks. Quite an entourage.
Lots of interesting places to visit on this trip. Great crew too.
Another beautiful bunch! Did you really say three stooges. They look like a great crew.
They are a great bunch. Couldn’t resist that caption 😉
It is hard to beat a border terrier for charm.
And for character.
Such sweet babies! Love Lulu! 🙂
Each and every one of them!
safe travels all
Thanks – trip has started well.
Pip is a jolly old chap, yes yes. Heheh. What a sweet name, and an equally adorable face. You guys have been busy as ever!
Pip is indeed a gorgeous old chap! We are indeed busy and have no complaints 🙂
Miss you guys hope your behaving tigger and pip you’ve been eating your food. See you soon for fun in the sun xxxx
Hi Helen, courier J says Pip is eating for France!
Thank you for looking so well after all these dear furry friends. Also thank you for giving us a look at what good work you are doing. V..V
It’s always our pleasure!
Well the first of the travellers have been dropped off safe and sound. They are snuggled down all happy enjoying the new smells and neighbours in France! Thankyou so much for looking after them so well it was harder for me doing this than if it was my kids!! Ha ha thankyou xxxx
Delighted to hear they’ve settled so quickly! Good luck to you all in your new life in France.
What a gorgeous collection of travellers! So many cute faces – and tails!
Yes, we did get to see the rear end of a few this time 😉
WOW…..a full load – everyone looks quite pleased and happy – nobody scared or worried – that’s the kind of “full house” that makes the couriers AND owners happy!!!!!!!
Hugs, Sammy
You’re right Sammy – they are all very chilled and travelled well.
Your pets are adorable! You are so lucky! You have full house with fluffy friends! I have two dogs and we are going to move to a new house and I am so excited because I have a big back yard in the new house and I am absolutely sure that they will like it. Thant you for sharing this article!
None of you are going to know yourselves with all that space to play in! Enjoy your new home.
I haven’t seen a border terrier in a long time!
Nobody should be deprived of border terriers for that long!
