We recently transported two pet geckos from the Netherlands to London on our way back from delivering a dog called Melly in Switzerland. Before that, we brought a cat called Carly from France to England and a dog called Lupin from Yorkshire to London.
Carly, a cat travelling from France to England
We collected beautiful black cat Carly in the Hérault region of France for her journey to England and a happy reunion with her owner, Sam, in Surrey.

Carly took to travelling like a pro

Sam overjoyed to be reunited with Carly
Lupin, a dog travelling from Yorkshire to London
Lovely Lurcher Lupin — Louie to his closest friends — was staying with owner Esme’s family in the Yorkshire Dales. We drove him down to London for a happy reunion with Esme.

Lupin getting ready to leave Yorkshire

Such a handsome fellow!
Melly, a dog going from England to Switzerland
We met up with charming hound Melly at Windmill Farm Kennels in Surrey. We organised her animal health certificate (AHC), then transported her to the Zurich area of Switzerland, where her family was eagerly awaiting her arrival.

Melly is a friendly girl

She enjoyed our overnight stay at a hotel

All the family was on hand to welcome Melly to Switzerland
Two pet geckos from the Netherlands to London
Although we usually transport dogs and cats, and from time to time a bird, rabbit or tortoise, we also sometimes get asked to help relocate more exotic animals. Often, the exotic animals are part of a program to reintroduce a species, such as the cicadas we brought last year from France to England, or the Partula Snails we transported from Edinburgh Zoo to London Zoo.
Additionally, we’ve moved several bearded dragons over the years, including Brian, Betty and Dexter. But Marcin’s two geckos were tiny in comparison! We collected the geckos in the Netherlands and delivered them to Marcin in London.

The geckos were very quiet and peaceful passengers!
Exploring north-eastern France
Driving through north-eastern France on the way back from the Netherlands, we stopped to look at some of the World War One memorials in the Alsace area.

This mural in the village of Juvigny-sur-Loison is called ‘Souvenirs de Mémoire‘. Unveiled in 2021, it’s by Éléonore Giraud and honours both human and animal combatants.

The Meuse Argonne American Cemetery covers 130 acres and is the final resting place of more than 14,200 American soldiers

Panels along this walkway list the names of almost 1,000 missing in action

Behind the altar are the flags of the principal Allied nations in WW1

In Saint Hippolyte, we caught the eye of this fluffy cat

We loved this panel of mythical creatures

The village is full of half-timbered houses

Alsace is known for its wines…

…including its sparkling Crémant

It must be wonderful to travel all over like that.
Courier Gwen does love her travels in Europe – you can see it in her photography!
Courier Gwen is an incredible photographer…….the striking views are perfectly framed. I guess transporting geckos is a rather QUIET experience for A/C !! Happy people and Happy pets – the “signature” of A/C….you do it so well.

You transported geckos and in the past cicadas and other critters to reintroduce species. You certainly have an interesting and important job. I loved the dogs and cats (Carly is very cute). The Meuse Argonne American Cemetery is very beautiful. I did not know about it. Your photos are amazing. It was a great joy to look at them.

Lovely pets. Lupin is indeed very handsome. I think our Polly would like to meet him. Nice shots of the travels.
I can’t imagine who would want to introduce Cicadas to an area where they’re Cicada free. They’re hideous. We don’t have them where I live and I’m glad of it Thank you for the little tour at the end of your trip. The numbers of those who made the ultimate sacrifice are horrendous. War is awful.
