After a long day on the road, Animalcouriers found a lovely Logis at Vaison la Romaine in Provence, where we stayed the night.
The next morning, our first stop was in Antibes, to reunite Pip and Tigger with Rob and Helen. Both dogs were hugely pleased to see Rob who walked up the hill to meet us.
We then crossed the border into Italy to reunite Labradoodle Arya with Stephanie and Luke. Last year Arya flew from Italy to England but nearly didn’t make the plane as the cargo-handlers at Venice airport decided that the number of suitcases mean there was no room for Arya in the hold. It was a nail-biting time, as Luke and Stephanie were already on the plane. In the end, the airline’s head office in London had to intervene, and Arya was given priority over some of those Armani suits! This year, all was much calmer as Arya travelled by road.
Sonia, her mum and her cousin drove from Pisa to Lucca meet us and collect Sonia’s guinea pig, Lulu. The whole family was delighted to see Lulu again.
And while in Lucca we also delivered family of four, Biscuit, Timmy, Moomin and Giacomo, to Barry and his wife Miho. They’ve been splitting their time between London and Italy but as their pet population expanded, they were finding it harder to spend time in Italy. The solution? Move the pets to Italy!
I’m glad Arya was on the way with you… isn’t that scary that they rather throw that Arrrgh-mani suits in a plane than a pup? We need an airline for all animals…
Can’t quite believe they even contemplated leaving Arya behind! There was a US company called Pet Airways – started in 2009, flew 7,000 pets but sadly folded in 2012 🙁
It’s always heartwarming to see the peoples smiling faces with their animals. Giacomo is seriously big and beautiful kitty.
Giacomo is a seriously big and beautiful fellow!
LOL the one cat looks a wee bit evil! hahahaha!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Wouldn’t you be having the paparazzi after you all trip? 😀
Lots of worries along the way but so glad it all worked out. What a relief to everyone.
Nothing is ever completely straightforward when travelling with pets!
A guinea pig traveler too! All so precious! Yes, a lot of worries along the way, but you do a great job of handling them so all comes out well.
We do like to have a little variety! Thanks, you have to be flexible when travelling with animals 😉
The digs look nice.
No complaints from couriers J and Mike – what a view to relax in front of at the end of the day.
Giacomo is one beautiful cat. –Curt
Isn’t he delicious!
I thought I was huge, but Giacomo and Moomin look much bigger than me. Thank you for coming to my Pawty. It made my birthday just a little bit more special <3 Extra Pawkisses for the weekend 😀 <3
Think their owners must feel like they’ve had a workout after just lifting them up 😀 So glad you party went so well – you do know how to put on a fine spread!
I do see why they named Tigger, what beautiful stripes. Giacomo is HUGE! Me YOW!
You have some gorgeous passengers again! Those cats are magnificent.
With reports of animal cruelty flooding social media these days it always renews my faith reading your posts especially when so many of the owners go to great lengths not to be separated from their feathered and four legged family members
