We recently helped ensure the safe relocation of Custard the cat from England to Japan, where she joined owners Leo and Mini who’ve moved to Osaka for work-related reasons.
As well as being a senior cat, Custard is diabetic: she depends on insulin and has a strict eating and drinking routine to remain stable. We worked closely with her owners and vet to carefully plan the trip from leaving her Shropshire home to arriving in Osaka.
Custard’s first stop was the Animal Reception Centre (ARC) at Heathrow Airport. From there she flew to Tokyo where, as planned, a vet was on hand to perform her insulin injection. Custard then rested at the airport before her onward journey to Osaka.
Everyone involved in Custard’s relocation took their role seriously, communicated well, and helped ensure her routine wasn’t compromised.

Custard reaches Tokyo
The team who received Custard at Tokyo International Airport (also known as Haneda Airport) wrote to say:
“Custard has arrived at HND (Haneda Airport), and I have started working on her import process. I will contact you again soon with further updates.”

Custard arrives in Osaka
When Custard reached Osaka Airport, the team sent a message and photos:
“Custard arrived at our facility safely. She is still adjusting to her new surroundings and does not want to come out of the crate yet. I will keep her in the crate with the door open so she can explore the room once she feels comfortable. I have placed her food and water inside the crate so she can eat whenever she wants.”

Following a happy reunion at her new home, Leo and Mini emailed us with photos saying:
“My wife and I would like to thank everyone for making Custard’s immigration to Japan possible. We are very grateful for all the support and kindness we have received. Custard is enjoying exploring her new home and seems to be recovering well from her long journey.”

The darling girl looks to have settled in beautifully!

Custard is gorgeous and it sounds like AC did what they do best – take perfect care of everyone’s beloved pets in transit – ones with special needs like Custard need extra care and AC does that better than anyone. Hope Custard and her family are happy in their new home in beautiful Osaka.
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
P.S. Commenting on READER view is working – still can’t comment on the blog.
This is an amazing story!! I .would think Custard (whose name I love) is a very fortunate cat to have been in the capable hands of Animal Couriers for her journey. Great job to all and hope she settles in well in her new life.
I’m so impressed with how you move beloved pets from country to country. Custard must have had quite the adventure. Good luck in your new home!!
