Animalcouriers stopped off last night at one of our favourite hotels — Hotel Almazara Riofrio — in the middle of the campo in Spain’s Granada region.
After walks with Rafa and Ziollo this morning, we called on Linda, who fosters dogs in and around Lorca in the Murcia region, to collect Abbi’s little dog Freddi. He had a frightful start in life, and was brought to Helping Hands after being savaged by two other dogs. He had to have an operation to insert cement and metal inserts around his spine, to hold his tiny body up.
We then headed off to see Gary at Digs4Dogs on the Costa Blanca. Heather’s dogs, Baldrick and Holly, have been staying here since she went on ahead to the UK. Now it’s time for them to join her in Stafford.
Our last call of the day was to catch up with our colleagues Traveldog in Alicante, who brought a beautiful Whippet called Moma to join our trip to the UK.
Freddi looks good now.
Poor little Freddi…..so happy he survived and has a happy home! Everyone else looks quite happy and ready to travel!

Beautiful landscapes and wildflowers. I love your photos of the animals and people involved with them. Happy travels!
Lovely stories and georgeous dogs. Have they all got homes in the UK?
The wild flowers are a treat for the eye.
Lovely photos!
What a beautiful hotel!
And for a dog who had such a rough (ruff!) start to life, Freddi looks like a happy little guy – so cute!

Freddi looks very happy now! Glad to hear he found help and a loving home.
What a lovely hotel. Freddi looks so perky after all he’d been through. Hard to imagine 28 or 27 dogs to care for.
all my best wishes for Freddy and his 217 foster siblings… I hope so much you can pick them up to a trip to their furever home soon :o)
27 siblings… not 217… as I mentioned my momma has a math problem :o)
Freddi gets the prize for best ears.
you have become a miracle for so many rescue animals as well as for those who move from country to country with their humans who change residences. WE want YOUR job LOL
MOL you have two spies on board 😀 So happy for Freddie, but sad for the farwell committee. Hope they’ll get lucky too soon. Pawkisses 🙂 <3
Lovely to see the photos of Holly and Baldrick! We have missed them sooo much, and are really looking forward to having them with us. Thank you for looking after them so well!
regards Heather
Those wild flowers look amazing
