The Calais 5 from Ukraine are free and home at last

The Calais 5 from Ukraine — two dogs and three cats — have at last reached their new UK homes. Our first Ukrainian pet passenger, Funtik the chinchilla

Animalcouriers recently transported our first Ukrainian pet passenger, Funtik the chinchilla. Funtik and his owner, Daria, fled from Ukraine at the start of the Russian invasion. They crossed the border into Poland and made their way by train to DĂĽsseldorf in Germany, where Daria has a family member. Information for people leaving Ukraine with their pets

The situation for people leaving Ukraine with their pets is evolving. Poland, for example, is allowing all pets into the country, whether or not they have microchips, rabies vaccinations or any form of pet passport. Other EU countries are accepting pets at border crossings and many are taking the same approach as Poland. They're making exceptions to their usual rules about dogs, cats and ferrets needing microchips, rabies vaccinations and pet passports.
