We reach Italy where Leo gets on board; then Alfredo joins us in Germany

Animalcouriers took the ferry from Greece to Italy and spent the night in Bologna. The next morning we headed to the Milan area to collect Leo. This handsome cat belongs to Delia, who moved to England a short while ago and has now been able to send for Leo to join her. We met Delia's mother Sebastiana and her brother Joseph (who's looking forward to practising his English in England), along with Massimo who carried Leo out from their apartment to our van. From Italy we headed to Switzerland and spent the night at one of our favourite places, the Eden [...]

Delivering Jasper, Daisy, Milly and Booby in Greece; and Monte, Scotty, Atlas, Baloo and Vali get on board for the UK

When Animalcouriers arrived in Greece we were disappointed to find the car ferry timetable for our proposed route to Skiathos, to deliver Daisy and Jasper, had been changed! So with a bit of quick thinking, we decided that courier Mike could take the two cats on the Flying Dolphin seacat, while courier J stayed behind in charge of the van. Quite an adventure for these two curious cats, but they took it all in their stride and were delivered safely to their owners Siobhan and Stu. When we delivered little Yorkie Milly to Bruno and his wife, it took her [...]

Bridie flies to Bermuda, birdies take off for the British Virgin Islands

Animalcouriers recently arranged for Cockerpoo puppy Bridie to travel from the UK to her new home in Bermuda. This gorgeous, silky young girl homeboarded with us for a few days while her import and export paperwork was finalised, and provided to be a delightful, demure house guest! Her owner let us know Bridie arrived, saying: "The little lady arrived safely, she is absolutely beautiful and full of energy. She is eating and quite happy as she zooms around the house with her new favourite toys! Thank you so much for facilitating transporting her." We also organised air travel for a [...]

Reunions for Pip and Tigger in France; and for Arya, Lulu, Biscuit, Timmy, Moomin and Giacomo in Italy

After a long day on the road, Animalcouriers found a lovely Logis at Vaison la Romaine in Provence, where we stayed the night. The next morning, our first stop was in Antibes, to reunite Pip and Tigger with Rob and Helen. Both dogs were hugely pleased to see Rob who walked up the hill to meet us. We then crossed the border into Italy to reunite Labradoodle Arya with Stephanie and Luke. Last year Arya flew from Italy to England but nearly didn't make the plane as the cargo-handlers at Venice airport decided that the number of suitcases mean there was no [...]

Leaving the UK with Pip, Tigger, Arya, Cleo, Biscuit, Timmy, Giacomo, Moomin, Lulu, Jasper, Daisy, Milly and Booby

Animalcouriers set off from the UK to Greece with a fine collection of pets on board. Our first stop will be to reunite Pip and Tigger with their owners Robert and Helen, who've moved to Antibes in France. Robert and Helen originally asked us to take their dogs as far as Calais, where they would collect them and complete the journey by train. Ultimately, however, they decided it would be less stressful for Pip and Tigger to simply travel all the way with us by road. Both dogs are gorgeous and Helen and Robert will doubtless be waiting for them [...]

UK reunions for Ziollo, Meiow Meiow, Odie and Baboushka; and Jack makes a new friend

The last stop for Animalcouriers on the trip back from Portugal was at a working wine domaine near Auxerre, in the Burgundy region of France. Couriers J and M immersed themselves in the table d'hôte experience and enjoyed tasting the fantastic wines produced at the domaine: a rosé to start, a crisp white to accompany the artisan meat pie, a pinot noir with the main, and a spicier version with pudding. The family who run the domaine invited us to park our van and walk the dogs within the vintners yard. They watched over us as we prepared the pets [...]

Channel hopping with Jimmie, Millie, Ellis, Dooby, Lluvia and Mikey

While couriers J and M completed their return trip from Portugal to the UK, courier Mike was kept busy with a number of short hops across the channel. Meryl's cats Jimmie and Millie were due to join an earlier trip from the UK to France, but a problem with their passports meant their travel was delayed. They stayed at a cattery while their owners went on ahead. Once the passports were sorted, Courier Mike collected them from East Sussex and drove them to their new home in the Lot. Amanda contacted Animalcouriers as she was struggling to get herself and [...]
