Pet travel with dogs, cats, puppies and a rabbit

Meet some of the dogs, cats, puppies and a rabbit who've travelled to and from Spain, Italy and France with Animalcouriers over the past few months. Alfie, a puppy from Spain to the UK Darling Alfie stole many hearts as he travelled from Barcelona to London with courier Sarah to join his owner. Although our office is closed, we still have couriers on the road, helping to ensure pets and their families are together for the festive season. Short trips with dogs from France and Italy; and with a duck from the UK

Couriers J and M recently made a couple of short trips with dogs from France and Italy. On one trip, there was the drama of a baby squirrel rescue. And in parallel, courier Trevor transported a duck and his owner from the UK to France. Baby squirrel rescue Courier M found a stunned-looking baby squirrel by the road outside our hotel, in danger of being run over. Stunned by the side of the road Realising it had probably fallen out of a nest in a tree, he scooped it up in a clean cat litter tray, where [...]

Toxic cat food fear: UK cats are dying from pancytopenia

Cats in the UK are dying from a blood condition, pancytopenia, that may be linked to widely sold dry cat food brands. Investigators suggest food fungi could be to blame. The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) said this week it was aware of more than 500 cases over the past few months, with over 60% proving fatal. The true number of deaths could be higher as many cases aren't reported to vets, and some vets don't pass data to the RVC. The cat foods concerned are: Some batches of Sainsbury’s hypoallergenic cat foods Applaws AVA, a Pets at Home brand The [...]
