Shetland geese and ducks travelled with Animalcouriers from the UK to Italy. We also transported all sorts of fabulous dogs — large and small — to European destinations on behalf of their families.
14 Shetland geese and ducks from England to Italy
It’s not often we’re asked to transport geese and ducks, so we were delighted to travel to County Durham to collect 14 of them! We drove them to the Venice area of Italy, where their owner was relocating for work.

There were seven delightful Shetland ducks…

…and seven gorgeous Shetland geese
Rocky, a dog from London to France
We met up with King Charles Spaniel Rocky in London for his journey to Antibes in the south of France.

Lovely Rocky
Mizu, a dog from England to Denmark
This handsome fellow, a Labrador-English Bulldog cross, belongs to Joey, who moved to Denmark with his Danish wife. Mizu travelled with us from Surrey to Haderslev.

Mizu, the perfect passenger

A happy reunion for Mizu in Denmark
Scuba, a dog from Sweden to the UK
Adorable Scuba is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, a breed that’s described as ‘intelligent, eager to please, alert and energetic’. Scuba’s owner was due to drive him from Stockholm to England himself, but his car broke down. Fortunately, we were able to collect Scuba from his owner’s Mum and drive him to Surrey for a happy reunion.

Scuba settled well on the journey

A warm welcome for Scuba in Surrey
Isaac, a dog from Sweden to Scotland
Golden Retriever Isaac is a gentle giant — weighing in at around 43kg and over a metre long! We collected him from Petra in Arlanda, north of Stockholm, and delivered him to co-owner Brian in Carlisle.

Dear Isaac comfortable in his bedroom

Very well behaved on his walks

Big hugs for a big dog!
Paxo, a dog from Sweden to England
At the other end of the scale from Isaac — meet Paxo, a miniature Dachshund! This darling fellow joined our trip near Gothenburg in Sweden and travelled with us all the way to Cornwall for a reunion with owner Maxine.

Cute little Paxo

Oh my! A bit of a different “cargo” with the ducks and geese but everybody needs new home from time to time……love the dog photos – everyone with a smile…….!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
It is fun having some slightly different passengers!
You had a foul haul with beautiful foul. Isaac looks a bit like Jake.
Foul goings on indeed! Isaac and Jake are big boys 😀
Quack, quack, quack!! Loved the Shetland ducks and their journey!!!
Of course, the dogs are always special travelers for me, and I loved this group!!
Thank you so much for the wonderful images!!
The ducks and geese sure have an interesting destination. Never a dull moment 😉
I have to say I have not seen you transport ducks and geese before. Lots of dogs from Sweden this time. Transporting a dog and your car breaks down is certainly a major bummer. I am so glad Scuba’s owner found you so you could come to the rescue. Your photos are wonderful as usual.
They’re not common passengers but we have had some fun and exotic pets over time. It was very lucky we were so close to offer assistance after the breakdown.
My heart always warms when I see your posts! I’m a sucker for golden retrievers, too, so this made my day. Absolutely love them. What’s it like transporting ducks? Would you say it’s more complex/difficult than a dog to keep them okay for the duration? And little Rocky is beautiful. We used to have a Cavalier King Charles tricolour and they’re just the sweetest dogs. xx
Well, you don’t have to walk ducks and geese 😀 They need their food and compartments cleared out, same as dogs and cats. So, all in all, not that different 😉
Hello friends, it looks like Noah’s Arc here today 🙂 Aren’t the Shetland Geese lovely?! Did they honk the whole way or settle in? I always love hearing the names of your guests and, Scuba is such a cute name. Isaac is a dream boat! I mean, look at that face! I am in love
It can feel a little Old MacDonaldish some days 😀 They were really quite quiet passengers and very well behaved. Names are always great. Isaac has gone down rather well.
