From Greece with two family dogs and a rescue cat

Couriers Paul and Trevor recently returned from Greece with two family dogs from Turkey and a rescue cat on board. Kouriakis, a cat from Greece to England Dear little Kouriakis (also known as Kourkounel) was rescued by Makri. Kouriakis has been staying with Makri's father while she arranged his journey to the UK. Unfortunately, her father broke his leg, so Makri needed to find a way for Kouriakis to travel as soon as possible. Fortunately, Animalcouriers were on their way to Greece to collect Murphy and Baby, two dogs belonging to Gulce and Mert, and had room on board [...]

Two Maine Coon cats swap Los Angeles for Orkney

We helped two Maine Coon cats swap Los Angeles for Orkney. Owner Lis started to organise their move from Sacramento to Scotland last June. But the pandemic made it a stop-start process. The cats, Ike and Little Red, were booked to travel more than once, and each time their flights were cancelled. Lis made her move from the US to Orkney in November. In early January, we started working with her in another attempt to organise her cats' journey. Finally, after two postponements, Ike and Little Red touched down at London Heathrow in March. Animalcouriers collected them at the airport [...]

Families relocating from Gibraltar to Malta

A number of families relocating from Gibraltar to Malta asked Animalcouriers to transport their beloved pets for them. We took them by road through Spain, France and Italy, then via Sicily to Malta. Jack We collected friendly Jack, a Boxer-Pointer cross, from Erika at Cozy Kennels in Cadiz. This bouncy fellow belongs to Clare, who has relocated to Malta. We love Jack's kohl-rimmed eye! Jack tries out for 'longest tongue' Freya, Loki, Bella and Nina This fab four, two dogs and two cats, belong to Nela and Jorge. All are calm, chatty and travelling well. It's obvious [...]

Meet British Bulldog Bella — and we’re celebrating 10 years of blogging!

Animalcouriers are celebrating 10 years of blogging. It made us think warmly of all the clients we've got to know, and all the followers and friends we've gained over the past decade. And naturally it prompted us to look back at some of the stories our blogs have told. We were especially struck by the long and complex journeys some pets undertake, and the lengths to which owners go to made sure their pets can relocate wherever the family goes — like Bella, who recently travelled in style from New York to Athens. Bella English Bulldog Bella belongs to Suzanne, [...]

Meeting a family of three dogs and six cats in Malta

Couriers J and M flew into Sicily's Catania airport, hopped into a waiting Animalcouriers van, and headed off to meet a family of three dogs and six cats in Malta. We're transporting the pets from Malta to Hungary — the first time we've done this particular trip. Our ferry from Pazzollo in Sicily to Malta Sightseeing in Malta It's always a pleasure for couriers J and M to find themselves on Malta, as both have childhood ties to the island. With a bit of spare time before meeting their passengers, our couriers took in some of the sights [...]

Collections in Italy, reunions in the UK

After crossing from Greece we stopped off for more collections in Italy, before making our way to Calais. When we reached the UK, it was time for happy reunions. We enjoyed the autumn colours that were just starting to show, and felt that Baloo, from Greece, with his golden coat, made the scene complete Titi, who also joined us in Greece, content to sit and watch the world go by Scrabble We collected Springer/Labrador cross Scrabble from the NATO base at Lago Patria. Owner Kevin, who manages staffing at the base, carefully organised things so that [...]
