Animalcouriers wishes all our friends and followers a very happy and healthy 2015. To kick off the new year in the best way, we’d like to share updates about some of our recent passengers.
Rescue dog Etti (short for Loretta) travelled with us just last month from the Almeria region of Spain to join David and Victoria. David wrote to say:
“Thank you very much for getting our sweet pooch to us in time for Christmas. She’s such a joy. We have been very lucky with her, considering we just went on a ‘hunch’. As you can see, she is already very much at home, and we will soon wonder how we ever lived without her.”
We also received Christmas greetings from Rudi, a clever young dog who attached herself to Simon and family while they were on holiday in Portugal. Rudi travelled with us in September to join her new family and has clearly got her paws firmly under the table.
Edward sent us news about beautiful black cat Josephine, who’s swapped life in London for a more bucolic time in the Burgundy region of France. She travelled with us in November, has settled in well and seems happier in France than she was in London. “I think it is the lack of competition for territory here (lots of land, very few cats),” says Edward.
“Thank you for all your care, and the trouble you took with Josephine. It really is appreciated. Sometimes other people do not understand how important a loved pet is, but Animalcouriers showed a level of empathy and understanding rarely encountered.”
Shortly before Christmas we arranged flights for Toddy to New Zealand, and Maisie to the United Arab Emirates.
Toddy’s journey started in Malaga, in Spain. His owner Martin had to go on ahead and left Toddy with friends until he was ready to meet New Zealand’s stringent entry requirements. Courier A, who’s based in Spain, helped to see Toddy through vet visits and final paperwork. Once everything was ready, Toddy flew to Gatwick airport, where Animalcouriers collected him and drove him to Heathrow airport in our quarantine van, to prevent his Spanish export paperwork from being invalidated. The following day he jetted off to New Zealand to rejoin Martin.
Lively Goldendoodle Maisie homeboarded with Animalcouriers before flying off to the UAE to meet Annie and the rest of her new family. Annie contacted us about pet shipping services before she found Maisie, saying they felt they had a long search ahead. But just days later they found Maisie! Her previous owner had fallen ill and was sadly unable to keep her, so her breeder had taken her back. That’s when Annie called, and the rest, as they say, is history. Annie tells us:
“Maisie is just wonderful (but I do feel like at times I have an energetic toddler in the house!) and doesn’t seem fazed by anything or anyone. She really has come here with all guns blazing. She has the most gorgeous gentle temperament and she is getting so much attention and so many cuddles from the family which is great. When I see her just lying casually around it feels like she has been with us for much longer than she has — a good sign, I think. Thank you again for all your help and care.”
What a wonderful bunch of updates on a great group of happy travelers who are home sweet home! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you guys! Whee do too 😀
Is Rudi a Vizsla? He looks a little like a cousin of my hungarian enemies :o) I’m glad Maisie arrived at her new destination without problems, seems it’s currently difficult to travel to the UAE :o(
Probably some Vizsla in there but could be anything! What have you heard about the UAE?
the passengers had to wait for nearly 13 hours ( weather problem) there and they said no one brought water or food… if that’s true it would be bad for a passenger in the cargo area
Such a great crew. We echo those thoughts on Maisie’s energy with our Pixie. She’s more work than our pig, cat and two kids combined!
Ha ha – what is it about some puppies?!
Such a great start to the year…all good and happy news! Happy New Year my friends…have a safe, healthy, lick-filled, furiously furry, and fabulously fun 2015. xo
