We found ourselves dealing with delayed flights for Kismet, flying from Turkish North Cyprus to the UK, and Myla, heading from London to Grand Cayman.

Kismet, a dog flying from North Cyprus to the UK

Gorgeous Kismet took off from Turkish North Cyprus to London. Her journey involved a stop in Istanbul, Turkey, where she boarded her connecting flight to London’s Heathrow Airport.

Unfortunately, her flight got into Heathrow rather late, and it then took ages to complete the clearing process. We knew it would be alright in the end as we check all the documentation well in advance to avoid last-minute problems. Her owner wisely sat waiting with a coffee, and we provided updates throughout.

Myla, a dog flying from the UK to Grand Cayman

In Bath we collected delightful Myla, a six-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, for her journey to Grand Cayman.

The outbound flight from Heathrow was badly delayed, so BA kindly took Myla off the plane so that she could have a run around, a drink and a rest at the airport’s Animal Aircare (AAC) centre, whose staff kept Myla’s owners updated. Some three hours later, Myla was reloaded onto the aircraft, ready for take-off with a brief stop in Nassau.

After more than 13 hours in transit (including her three-hour break at Heathrow), Myla finally touched down in Grand Cayman, ready to start her new life with Greg, Vanessa and ‘big sister’ Ruby.

And finally… 4 dogs fly from South Korea to Paris

At Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, we met up with a quartet of charming dogs who flew in from South Korea. They were rescued from the streets — and potentially the meat market — by Renata, who is dedicated to saving as many of these dogs as she can.

We drove the dogs from Paris to the UK, where new homes and families awaited them.
