From Malta to the Netherlands by road and sea

Indi, a lovely German Shepherd Dog cross, belongs to Amy, who's relocated from Malta to the Netherlands. Amy's been working as an IT specialist on Malta for a couple of years. During that time, she adopted Indi from a local shelter. At the time, poor Indi had a terrible ear infection. Although it cleared up under Amy's tender care, Indi has been left with sensitive ears. So much so that when Amy was planning her relocation to Amsterdam, the vet advised against Indi flying. So Animalcouriers stepped in to transport the dog by road and ferry from Malta to the [...]

Meeting search and rescue dog Teal at Paris Charles de Gaulle

Animalcouriers met search and rescue dog Teal at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Teal flew in with Mike from Afghanistan. Teal and Mike were on active duty in Kabul, where they were both blown up and left very shaken. Mike told us he owes his life to Teal. Mike has sponsored Teal's journey to the UK, where Teal will stay at a farm in Wiltshire to recover. They will then decide whether Teal, who is owned by the British Embassy, will retrain or retire. In the meantime, Mike has gone back to work. Mike and Teal at CDG [...]

Cats and dogs by air from Greece to the UK

Courier J flew to Athens with couriers Mary and Vicki to bring cats and dogs by air from Greece to the UK. At our hotel in Athens, a new litter of stray kittens had appeared since the last time we stayed. This little one soon caught on to the idea of sharing bits of our breakfast. Romeo, Tabitha and Nala from Lesvos Anne Marie adopted this litter of three kittens during a recent trip to Lesvos. Now they're on their way to join her at their new UK home. Handsome Romeo — his sisters were rather camera [...]

Pets travelling from Northern Ireland, Belgium, Italy and France

It's time to catch up with our couriers who've been out and about on a number of short trips, collecting pets travelling from Northern Ireland, Belgium, Italy and France. Cato and Brutus from Northern Ireland Slinky black cats Cato and Brutus started out as a pair of feral kittens, who turned up on a French doorstep and were taken in by their kindly owner. They subsequently moved with their owner to Bangor, Northern Ireland, which is where we met them. Their owner is moving to a nursing home, so her goddaughter, Saffron, stepped in to give Cato and Brutus a [...]

The story of Emilio from Lisbon

We recently collected handsome Siamese cat Emilio from Lisbon and delivered him to his new home in Harrogate. The story behind Emilio's relocation is rather a sad one, which his family have invited us to share.Emilio was adopted by Rachael and Rob in Lisbon four years ago, when his original owner moved to China. Rachael and Rob adored Emilio, and he was central to their plans to move back to the UK from Portugal in 2020.Tragically, Rob passed away in September at the age of 31, shortly after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Rachael moved back to the family home in North Yorkshire, and her mum, Linda, sprang into [...]
