Animalcouriers met search and rescue dog Teal at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Teal flew in with Mike from Afghanistan.
Teal and Mike were on active duty in Kabul, where they were both blown up and left very shaken. Mike told us he owes his life to Teal.
Mike has sponsored Teal’s journey to the UK, where Teal will stay at a farm in Wiltshire to recover. They will then decide whether Teal, who is owned by the British Embassy, will retrain or retire. In the meantime, Mike has gone back to work.

Mike and Teal at CDG

From CDG we drove Teal to Eurotunnel to cross the Channel to the UK. Here’s Teal at check-in — what a splendid and obedient fellow he is!

Teal at his new home in Wiltshire
What a story……we hope both of them will heal and recover from their experiences – sounds to me like Teal deserves a life of relaxation after being a hero. We wish Mike well in his continued work.
Pam and Teddy
Yes, they both deserve some serious recovery time.
welcome in the UK Teal hero pup!!! how great that your courier had Teal while finding the way through CDG, so they can not get lost there LOL
Ha ha! Isn’t it the most dreadful airport to navigate? 😀
He sure looks as though it was natural to settle in. Good work!!
He’s taking to this new life like a pro!
Good looking.
Isn’t he.
Oh, such a sweet face and such a wonderful warrior – I hope both Mike and Teal will be able to recover… whatever that means for them both. I’m hoping for happiness in their futures! They deserve our gratitude and support.
I am thankful for our military – on two and/or four legs.
A shame the partnership had to end but they both supported each other marvellously.
Best wishes to Teal and Mike for speedy recoveries.
Thanks Clowie. They both seem to be on their way.
Two deserving cases. Let’s hope Teal can relax and retire, and that Mike comes home safe.
Aren’t they just. We second your hope.
I’m glad that Teal made it home for a bit of recovery time. Good job, Teal, for taking are of Mike. A war hero in the flesh.
It’ll be interesting to hear how it goes. They’ve both looked after each other rather well.
I hope that Teal finds the new home very relaxing.
It’s looking likely.
What a clever dog!
He’s got rather a good outcome 😉
Sounds like Mike & Teal have had a hell of a time. My heart always goes out so much to dogs of war, it’s painfully sad. I’m glad Mike is able to rest up and have time to recuperate, whatever the next step in his journey may be. Absolutely gorgeous little one.
Wishing Teal all the very best, too.
Caz xx
Thanks Caz, they both seem to have started the recovery well.
Teal and Mike deserve a long rest and relaxation period. I wish Mike well in his continuing work.
A truly beautiful and noble pair.
An amazing story!
