From Narbonne Animalcouriers headed north towards Calais, stopping last night at Chaumont, where there were excellent dog walks to be had alongside a pretty canal.
On our way this morning, we were driving though a small hamlet, only to find the road blocked by an aged yet distinguished Golden Retriever. He waited until we had shown due respect by completely stopping our van. At which point he rose slowly from the middle of the road and sauntered in his own sweet time to the pavement to let us pass. A class act!
We’re now at Calais, ready to board the ferry to cross the Channel.
PS – we’ve just been informed by WordPress that it’s six years since we started our blog! 2, 570 posts later we are still enjoying our travels — thank you all for your follows, likes and comments, it’s a pleasure to have you on the road with us.
Cookie contemplating the pond is a beautiful shot. Classic. Worth framing!
Oh thanks – the light on our evening walk was wonderful.
It’s not the light (although it helps) — just great composition.
All the animals look great, but I agree with KDKH the first photo is wonderful.
There’s something about dogs contemplating water. We’re not averse to it eiher.
Congrats on six years! Here’s to many more after this!
Thanks! It’s been a great journey considering we started out simply trying to let our clients know where we were.
I particularly liked the top picture of Cookie and the one of the canal.
Taken on two very delightful evening walks.
Thanks for taking us along on your dog walks. Love your blog.
Thanks, we do love the company!
Great picture of Cooky!
Thanks, we had a better view of the water than him!
I’ve missed you! Been away from wordpress for so long, having no inspiration to write and feeling overwhelmed by the reading, but I hope to be back. Beautiful creatures all, and it’s so nice to hear about your response to the “roadblock” – patience instead of impatience and frustration, which is how too many folks here react.
Congratulations on six years too.
We’ve missed you too! Hope you are back soon with lots of fresh inspiration.
The other response from courier M could have been to dognap the Golden as he’s very partial to them 😀
safe travels all
Thanks guys!
Love that picture of Cooky
It did turn out well. Shame the little fellow didn’t have a better view of the water from down there 😉
Kathy, your ears are fabulous!… and maybe Paddula is related with Shoko? Happy Blog-oversary!!!
Marvellous ears indeed! Thanks Easy, it came round fast.
Thanks – it came round rather fast! We like cute roadblocks 😉
First of all congratulations on SIX years of blogging – we haven’t known you that long but you have made us smile MANY MANY times as we’ve watched reunions and enjoyed the scenery along the way. You all do wonderful work of course helping animals and their families stay together no matter where they may relocate. Also, that first photo is absolutely SMASHING. All the photos are wonderful (they always are) but that one is particularly fabulous from an artistic point of view!
Hugs, Sammy (and Mom Pam)
