With pets collected in France and Belgium, we’re now ready to cross the Channel

Animalcouriers met dogs and cats from Athens and their owners, accompanied by volunteer Susanne, at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. Meanwhile our colleagues from Geodis Freight  met with volunteers Aimilia and Alexandra who accompanied dogs and their owners to Brussels airport. Annelies and her team from Geodis took the pets to their own premises, and watered and walked them while they waited for us to collect them. We're now at Calais, checked in and sitting on the dockside. The only sound we can hear from the back is snoring, but we're not sure who it is! Susanne walked the Paris [...]

Frankie goes to Rio — in time for the footy

Cocker Spaniel Frankie's owners are waiting in Brazil for Frankie to join them from the UK. Animalcouriers arranged for Frankie to fly with Lufthansa to Rio de Janeiro via Frankfurt in Germany. Frankie spent last night homeboarding with Animalcouriers, with a comfy bed and plenty of TLC before his 4.00am start this morning. His flight left London a little later than scheduled — we always keep an eye on the tracking information to check whether flights have left on time, so that we can let pet owners know if there will be a delay. Frankie was checked by a vet in Frankfurt before starting the [...]

Two Springer Spaniels fly to Washington DC

Lovely Springer Spaniel pair Diesel and Buzz flew to Washington DC to rejoin their owners in Maryland. The dogs' owners were worried about how 12-year-old Diesel, who doesn't much like change or unusual situations, would cope. To minimise the time Diesel was away from his family, courier R heroically offered to collect the two dogs late in the evening from their house in Dorset. After a couple of hours' rest at courier R's home, he took them to Heathrow Airport for their 04:00 am check-in with United Airlines. Once they were safely through, courier R went straight home to bed! [...]

Milo takes Buenos Aires by storm

Well travelled Jack Russell Terrier Milo recently joined his owner Josie in Buenos Aires. Milo first travelled with Animalcouriers when he was a young pup moving to Monaco. That was over two years ago and Josie has stayed in touch with us ever since. In February Josie moved to Argentina, and Milo went to stay with Josie's dad while waiting for his own ticket to South America. Finally everything was organised and Milo flew out with BA. He arrived in time for Josie's birthday, and she declared it was "the best present ever!" Milo waiting in Wiltshire with Josie's [...]

Peter the tortoise speeds his way to the Lone Star state

Peter the Hermann's Tortoise (Testudo hermanii) has escaped the English autumn to join his owners in Texas. No-one knows how old Peter is, but he's been with the same family for over 50 years! There was a bit of a rush on to organise Peter's flight as he had to travel before he started getting ready to hibernate for the winter. However, Hermann's tortoises are an endangered species protected by CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. So he couldn't travel until his CITES export certificate was issued. Peter stayed with family friends in the UK while the export paperwork was [...]

Maisie, Anak and Mr M are on their way to Bermuda

Pretty young dog Maisie and her feline companions Anak and Melchizedek (aka Mr M) set off for Bermuda today. Their owners went on ahead just after Easter to find the right house for this trio. This took a little longer than expected, but Maisie, Anak and Mr M are finally on their way. Animalcouriers originally collected them from Edinburgh in March. Maisie has been staying with family members in Surrey, while Anak and Mr M have been boarding at Burntwood Cattery. Earlier in the week Animalcouriers took all three pets to the vet to have their export certificates completed and the [...]
