Channel hopping with TaTa, and season’s greetings

Animalcouriers is just back from channel hopping with TaTa, a little dog who started life in Russia and now has a forever home in Scotland. Tata's story prompted us to look back at some of the other pets who've hopped the Channel with us over the past year. What is channel hopping? We developed this cost-effective, same-day service for transporting pets (and often their owners, too) from northern France, Belgium or the Netherlands to the UK via the Channel Tunnel. Meeting search and rescue dog Teal at Paris Charles de Gaulle

Animalcouriers met search and rescue dog Teal at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Teal flew in with Mike from Afghanistan. Teal and Mike were on active duty in Kabul, where they were both blown up and left very shaken. Mike told us he owes his life to Teal. Mike has sponsored Teal's journey to the UK, where Teal will stay at a farm in Wiltshire to recover. They will then decide whether Teal, who is owned by the British Embassy, will retrain or retire. In the meantime, Mike has gone back to work. Mike and Teal at CDG [...]

Pets travelling from Northern Ireland, Belgium, Italy and France

It's time to catch up with our couriers who've been out and about on a number of short trips, collecting pets travelling from Northern Ireland, Belgium, Italy and France. Cato and Brutus from Northern Ireland Slinky black cats Cato and Brutus started out as a pair of feral kittens, who turned up on a French doorstep and were taken in by their kindly owner. They subsequently moved with their owner to Bangor, Northern Ireland, which is where we met them. Their owner is moving to a nursing home, so her goddaughter, Saffron, stepped in to give Cato and Brutus a [...]

Zelda and Tyrion English Bulldogs Zelda and Tyrion belong to James and Rachel, an American couple who've been on a US Army posting in the UK. A new posting to Germany means a relocation to Frankfurt. With a new baby to look after, James and Rachel asked Animalcouriers to take care of transporting their delightful canine duo from Oxfordshire to their new home. At the P&O check-in, the computer-generated ticket didn't show pets, so an artistic member of staff improvised! [...]

From Greece with dogs and cats travelling to the UK by air and road

We drove to Greece to meet dogs and cats travelling to the UK by air and road. We split the trip between plane and van as so many animals were on the move. Many of our passengers were beloved family pets; others were strays and rescues going to new homes in the UK. First, let's meet the pets travelling by road. Our specially designed vans are quite modular, so we can reorganise and resize bedrooms depending on the number, size and type of pets travelling with us. Here are couriers Shane and Glenn showing off their assembly skills. [...]
