Rescuing dogs from the streets of South Korea

Renata does a fantastic job of rescuing dogs from theĀ streets of South Korea. She originally rescued a dog for herself, but the terribleĀ lives led by these stray dogs drove her to persuade her friends to join her inĀ getting as many ofĀ them off the streets as she can.Renata is very careful in the rehoming of these dogs. SheĀ selects dogs individually for people who apply to help, then completes theĀ entire processĀ herself — from home visits to assisting with introductions andĀ support during the first days.Fortunately, there are kind people in South Korea who offerĀ to accompany the dogs on their flights from South Korea [...]

From Greece with two family dogs and a rescue cat

Couriers Paul and Trevor recently returned from Greece with two family dogs from Turkey and a rescue cat on board. Kouriakis, a cat from Greece to England Dear little Kouriakis (also known as Kourkounel) was rescued by Makri. Kouriakis has been staying with Makri's father while she arranged his journey to the UK. Unfortunately, her father broke his leg, so Makri needed to find a way for Kouriakis to travel as soon as possible. Fortunately, Animalcouriers were on their way to Greece to collect Murphy and Baby, two dogs belonging to Gulce and Mert, and had room on board [...]

Pets travelling by air and homeboarding

Some of the pets we transport by road fly in from abroad. Other pets start their journey in the UK and fly out to destinations like the Cayman Islands and Singapore. In some cases, we offer homeboarding for outbound pets — especially puppies and kittens like Stella, Walnut and Whisper (below), for whom the socialising nature of a home environment is often preferable to a kennels or cattery. Major, a dog from the Cayman Islands to Scotland via Paris Bonnie's beloved dog Major couldn't fly direct from the Cayman Islands to the UK because the Animal Reception Centre (ARC) at [...]

The Calais 5 from Ukraine are free and home at last

The Calais 5 from Ukraine — two dogs and three cats — have at last reached their new UK homes. Animalcouriers collected these five pets in Warsaw on 21 April on the strength of a phone conversation with the UK government's Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), who assured us they would be granted licences to enter the UK. However, by the time we reached Calais with dogs Ricci and Leia, and cats Snowy, Scruffy and Toffee, all the UK's quarantine spaces had been allocated. So the pets weren't allowed to cross the Channel to the UK. Disappointed to say [...]
