Two Maine Coon cats swap Los Angeles for Orkney

We helped two Maine Coon cats swap Los Angeles for Orkney. Owner Lis started to organise their move from Sacramento to Scotland last June. But the pandemic made it a stop-start process. The cats, Ike and Little Red, were booked to travel more than once, and each time their flights were cancelled. Lis made her move from the US to Orkney in November. In early January, we started working with her in another attempt to organise her cats' journey. Finally, after two postponements, Ike and Little Red touched down at London Heathrow in March. Animalcouriers collected them at the airport [...]

From Malta to the Netherlands by road and sea

Indi, a lovely German Shepherd Dog cross, belongs to Amy, who's relocated from Malta to the Netherlands. Amy's been working as an IT specialist on Malta for a couple of years. During that time, she adopted Indi from a local shelter. At the time, poor Indi had a terrible ear infection. Although it cleared up under Amy's tender care, Indi has been left with sensitive ears. So much so that when Amy was planning her relocation to Amsterdam, the vet advised against Indi flying. So Animalcouriers stepped in to transport the dog by road and ferry from Malta to the [...]

Courier J flew to Athens with couriers Mary and Vicki to bring cats and dogs by air from Greece to the UK. At our hotel in Athens, a new litter of stray kittens had appeared since the last time we stayed. This little one soon caught on to the idea of sharing bits of our breakfast. Romeo, Tabitha and Nala from Lesvos Anne Marie adopted this litter of three kittens during a recent trip to Lesvos. Now they're on their way to join her at their new UK home. Handsome Romeo — his sisters were rather camera [...]

From Greece with dogs and cats travelling to the UK by air and road

We drove to Greece to meet dogs and cats travelling to the UK by air and road. We split the trip between plane and van as so many animals were on the move. Many of our passengers were beloved family pets; others were strays and rescues going to new homes in the UK. First, let's meet the pets travelling by road. Our specially designed vans are quite modular, so we can reorganise and resize bedrooms depending on the number, size and type of pets travelling with us. Here are couriers Shane and Glenn showing off their assembly skills. [...]

Pets flying to Australia, Bahrain, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dubai, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore

As well as our regular road routes all over Europe, Animalcouriers organises flights and paperwork for pets flying to destinations further afield. Here's a round-up of some of the pets we've helped reach their faraway homes over the past few months. Alfie We collected Rhodesian Ridgeback pup Alfie in Edinburgh and brought him south to stay with couriers M and L, ahead of his BA flight from London Heathrow to Grand Cayman. Nails were bitten to the quick as his rabies blood test got held up in the Christmas post. It turned up at the 11th hour, so he was [...]

Pets flying worldwide

With all the road trips going on last year, we got a little behind reporting on pets flying worldwide. So this blog is a round-up of airfreight news during the second half of 2017. Ele Lovely Golden Retriever Ele flew to San Francisco with United on their direct service. Animalcouriers arranged her flight and collected her from her London address. She stayed overnight with courier M (a big fan of Goldens) before heading off to Heathrow for the early morning check-in.  Ele started life in Kenya and spent a year in the UK for a year before heading home to [...]
