We felt it was time for news about some of the pets who’ve travelled with us recently: rabbits, cats and puppies — and 24 show pigeons!
We were also pleased to receive welcome news about past passenger Emilio.
Mash, Raisin and Popcorn, 3 rabbits from South Africa to the UK
With the help of Dominyc at Animal Travel, this splendid trio of rabbits flew from Cape Town to Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, where our courier Ryan was waiting to collect them. He drove them the last leg of their journey from the Netherlands to the UK for a reunion with owner Laura. Once the rabbits were settled in, Laura wrote to us and to Dominyc saying:
“A very big thank you for getting my babies home to me safe and sound! It was a very long 6 months but we are all so, so happy to be together again, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your continuous efforts! I will be forever grateful for you reuniting me with my family.”

When courier Ryan met them, the bunnies seemed quite unfazed by their long flight

What a cheeky little face!

Lovely photos from Laura…

Mary, Mungo and Midge, 3 cats from Brighton to Italy
Courier Ricardo made a dedicated trip to transport Corinne and Amanda’s fabulous felines from the UK to their new home in Italy.

Corinne told us: “Thank you for your help & perseverance with getting our cats to Italy for us…

“…Mary, Mungo & Midge all arrived safely…

“…All settled and happy in their new baskets. Grazie mille.”
Wilf, a puppy from the UK to France
Courier Shane collected gorgeous Border Collie pup Wilf from Christie in Leicestershire, and delivered him to Christie’s mum Helen in Brittany.

Bert and Ernie, 2 puppies from France to the UK
On his way back to the UK, courier Shane had these two puppies for company. They’re a handsome pair of Grand Basset Griffon Vendéens, who travelled from their breeder in Finistère to Lorna and Simon in Essex.

A warm welcome for adorable Bert and Ernie
24 show pigeons from Spain to the UK, heading for Australia
Courier Paul travelled to Spain to collect 24 show pigeons from their breeders who are regarded as world class. Their ultimate destination is Darwin, Australia, where competitive pigeon fancier Stuart is waiting for them. Before they’re allowed to head to Australia, the birds will quarantine with a pigeon expert in Folkestone.

Special boxes being readied for the pigeons’ journey

Thumbs up as all the birds are on board

Saying goodbye
And finally, news about Emilio
Darling Siamese cross Emilio travelled with us about a year ago from Lisbon in Portugal to Yorkshire. The circumstances of his relocation were rather sad: he moved to the UK with Rachael when her partner Rob tragically died from a brain tumour.
Rachael’s mum Linda, who organised Emilio’s move, very thoughtfully contacted us recently to update us on Emilio and send a photo. In her email Linda said:
“I just wanted to thank you again for all you did for Emilio when you managed to get him back to Yorkshire for us, from his former home in Lisbon last October. He has settled very well and now lives quite happily with our two other cats. For an older, rescue cat (we think he’s 12) who has always lived as a house cat, he has discovered the garden and loves it. He doesn’t go far, but he likes to climb the odd tree and wander along the walls. It made such a difference to us all, but especially my daughter, that we managed to get him back.”

Emilio happy at his Harrogate home
wow that are some long distances… thanks to you for bringing people and pets together this time… and all the good luck for the fab gbgv’s in UK ;O)
We’re sure the GBGVs are going to do splendidly in the UK!
❤️
😀
I sometimes wonder how you manage to part from your passengers at the end of a trip – they’re gorgeous!
It was nice to hear an update on Emilio, I’m glad he’s settled in to his new home.
It can be hard! It was extremely nice to hear from Emilio’s family.
Emilio looks like he’s enjoying his “new” life and everyone else certainly looks happy to have arrived at their destinations with your help!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Yup, great to see Emilio settled so well.
That’s a long ways to go for the pigeons. A lot of cute bunnies and kitties.
It’s a very long way but at least they don’t have to flap their own wings to get there.
You do such a good job of keeping families together and making new homes possible. Keep up the good work!
Thanks. People will go to great lengths to move their pets.
All so sweet
Very much so.
You’re always busy!
And we seem to get busier!
I remember Emilio’s story. My heart goes out to Rachel, Emilio and family regarding their loss of Rob. I am glad to hear Emilio has settled in.
Such beautiful passengers and reunions! The bunny enjoying the couch was nice photo addition, too. 🙂
It’s a very sad story but Emilio seems to have settled well. We rather like the comfy bunny too!
Wonderful stories and photos as always. You know I love the reunion posts, but the rabbits and pigeons’ travels took my breath away. Congratulations for all the great testimonies and am so glad Emilio is in a good place.
The work and services you provide bring light to those of us who are struggling for good news in the midst of this pandemic.
Cheers!
We do enjoy the different types of passengers we get sometimes. The pigeons were a great challenge! We all need a little light relief at the moment.
I love rabbits. The second barn I always went to at the California State Fair was the rabbit barn. (The first was to visit with the pigs.) Glad to hear that Emilio is happy and providing some happiness in return. –Curt
We’re with you on the barns to visit. They’re always great passengers and very entertaining.
What brilliant names for those rabbits; Mash, Raisin & Popcorn, very sweet, especially as they chill out on the sofa back home! I’d forgotten just how much I adore rabbits, it’s been so long since seeing one. I used to love going to the pet store and seeing them in the large rabbit run and enclosure there, wishing I could take them home with me.
It’s also very heartwarming to hear that little Emilio (who’s actually about 64 in human years and far older than me!) has settled in well to his Yorkshire home. After the family’s tragic loss, I’m glad they’ve got now three kittykats to keep the home warm and full of love. Best wishes to Rachel’s family

Awwdorable bunnies, kitties and doggies, Annie. What a great passengers list ♥ Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday and travel ahead 🙂 ♥
Big journeys, you must have a real big job booking accommodation and things along the way. Lovely photos.
