France, Spain & Portugal

on the road with Animalcouriers

France, Spain and Portugal, here we come

Animalcouriers recently set off from the UK in two vans, travelling with cats and dogs heading to France, Spain and Portugal.

Ringo

Adorable Labrador Ringo travelled with us from Lincolnshire to the Auvergne region of France.

Clovis, Marcel and Missie

We collected Vivian’s three gorgeous cats in Suffolk and delivered them to her in Zaragoza in the Aragon region of Spain.

Oscar

Jack Russell Oscar, from Banbury, homeboarded with us for a few days before the trip. He was reunited with owner Roger in Orihuela Costa in Spain.

Dear little Meg from Worcestershire also homeboarded with us before travelling to Almeria, where she was reunited with Karen, Neil and family.

Lexi, Lola, Maisie, Bailey and Laila

A bevy of Golden Retrievers! Courier M was in heaven, as he especially loves Goldens. We collected this family from Mark in Lancashire and delivered them to LezSonjas Boarding Kennels in Alicante, where they’ll wait for Mark to catch up with them.

Monty

Westiepoo Monty, one of our frequent travellers, made the trip from Surrey to Cadiz to be reunited with his family.

Finding somewhere like this that's interesting and attractive, and offers great dog walking and a decent, reasonably priced hotel is a real bonus for us. The Citadelle was part of a three-pronged defence strategy put in place by the French during the 17th century to keep out the English and protect the important city and port of Bordeaux.

Cookie and Zak

We caught up with Jen in Chiclana de la Frontera to hand over her super cats Cookie and Zak, who travelled with us from Warwickshire. Jen is an English teacher who loves working in Spain. She has breast cancer but is so impressed with the care she receives in Cadiz, she’s in no hurry to go back to the UK.

Bob and Marley

This delightful feline pair belong to Laura. We collected them in Kent and took them all the way to the Algarve in Portugal.

Lola

Another puss swapping the UK for the Algarve — lovely Lola made the journey with us from Surrey to rejoin Elaine.

Is she complaining to us? Not at all. Chatterbox Lola was simply updating us about all the goings-on we'd missed.

Do the cats moan when on long journeys? On the rare occasions I’ve travelled with cats they’ve had a lot to say – loudly.

It really depends on the cat. Some, especially the Siamese and Burmese have a lot to say 😀
