Couriers Marc and Matthew travelled with a fine passenger list of cats and dogs relocating from Greece to the UK.
Zorro, Spots and Stripes
This splendid feline trio belong to Edith β the whole family has swapped the island of Lesvos for Deal, in Kent.

Spots not too keen to show his face

The well-named Stripes
Jose
We collected Labrador cross Jose from Giorgos in Athens. He travelled with us to join Nancy in Cardiff.

Handsome hound Jose

Here he is, all settled in for the trip
Bizoux
Bizoux, a Griffon, is a somewhat senior gent. His owner George, a vet, researched options to get Bizoux from Athens to Saarbrucken in Germany, but struggled to find anything suitable. Then he read about our planned trip from Athens to the UK, and asked us if we could work Bizoux’s route into our journey β which we were pleased to do. George collected Bizoux from us in Metz, in north-eastern France, about an hour’s drive from his German home.

Sweet Bizoux
Salvador and Tiger
Salvador and Tiger, and owner Eleni-Andriana, have relocated from Athens to Stockton on Tees.

Gorgeous grey Siamese Salvador (sorry about the redeye!)

Salvador’s somewhat shyer companion, Tiger

Kevin’s famous five made the journey with us from Greece to rejoin him in Bedfordshire.

The bay at Igoumenitsa, the Greek port where we caught the ferry

It’s such a beautiful spot!

Stray dogs at the port β fortunate enough to be taken care of by the port staff
Rodrigo
On the way back through Italy, we stopped off in Milan to collect Rodrigo, a handsome Spinone cross Retriever travelling all the way to Carol in Clackmannanshire, Scotland.

Friendly fellow Rodrigo

And here’s courier Matthew, with the easiest dog to walk!
what fabulous passengers!!! I wonder if it is the name but it seems all “Odie’s” are curious ;O))))
Aren’t they the best! We’ll keep an eye on future Odie passengers to see how curious they are…
Indeed – they are all great characters.
They are a cast of characters!
There are some real cuties on this trip! And some shy ones!
Funny how the shy ones are generally the cats π
I love that rickety dock and first class ferry.
Isn’t it just wonderful!
Oh my! What a great crew of passengers for this trip. I’m glad that the port staff is kind enough to allow some of the dogs inside for shelter and food.
Pam and Teddy too
Wherever you go you find strays but often there are these lovely people helping them.
I want all dogs and cats to have the love Bizoux and George have…what is wrong with this planet?
My heart broke for the stray dogs at the port. That is one of my lasting memories of Greece – the stray animals. I wanted to bring them all home with us.
It is so hard to look and leave. These dogs are the lucky ones.
Another bunch of really cute passengers. I’m glad some of the strays are able to shelter at the port.
They are a very cute bunch and some very lucky ones going to new homes. The strays at the port aren’t doing too badly!
The red eye effect was spectacular.
We could put on an entire exhibition of spectacular red eye shots that luckily didn’t make the blog.
I’m happy to see the strays have a place to stay – they look to be at home.
They’re living a pretty good life.
Storm won me over immediately! And your photo of the pier was gorgeous. βCurt
Storm wearing that lovely jumper is too cute for words!
Great post! Such cute passengers!
Thanks, a great bunch of characters on this trip!
