One cat, three dogs and a host of snails get on board

Once his outbound passengers were safely delivered, courier Richard set about collecting passengers from Spain and Portugal: one cat, three dogs and a host of snails!

Runa

Splendid puss Runa, who belongs to Sofia and Joel, travelled from Porto in Portugal to Rugby.

Paddy

Gorgeous Golden Retriever Paddy travelled with us from Spain to Switzerland.

Paddy looks as though butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. In fact, it's the look of satisfaction after 'rearranging' his bedroom just to his liking!

Charly

Cute King Charles Cavalier Charly travelled with us from Marbella in Spain to join his family in Wimbledon, south London.

Joe

We collected handsome Husky Joe in Vélez Rubio, in Alicante. When his previous transport option had let him down, owner Richard had to go on ahead to Poole in the UK and leave Joe in the care of a neighbour.

The rather grand entrance to Vélez Rubio in Almería, home to 17th and 18th century churches and an archaeological museum. The Via Augusta, a Roman road linking Cadiz and Cartagena, also passes through here.

The snails

One of our less frequent passenger types — we transported a large number of snails from Salamanca to London for George.

No pictures of the snails? Maybe you were afraid they would make a speedy getaway. 😉

We were expecting some comments on the snails and you haven’t let us down 😀 It wouldn’t be the speed that was the problem, just the sheer numbers 😉

Looking at the photos of the fruit trees made me wish my lemon tree was still in bloom.

I was inclined to treat the possibility of travelling snails with pinch of salt but was impressed to find out that they are real.

As Tim says, the S Cargo are not a figment of our imagination, though they were the quietest passengers.

Okay. Now I’ve seen it all. Snails…wow.
Great pictures as always – loved the citrus fruit trees, and of course Charly shares his name with our Charly who is a little girl with way too much chutzpah.
    Safe travels.

Yup, the snails were a curiosity. Least amount of passenger care required, ever! Chutzpah Charly has a great ring to it 😉

    The citrus trees look lovely.

Paddy looks like he has lots of fun.

The snails are very shy. 🙂

Paddy certainly knows how to entertain himself 😉 Yes, the snails didn’t fancy the paparazzi much.

They aren’t the first snails to travel with us but they certainly were the largest in numbers.
