With all the road trips going on last year, we got a little behind reporting on pets flying worldwide. So this blog is a round-up of airfreight news during the second half of 2017.
Ele
Lovely Golden Retriever Ele flew to San Francisco with United on their direct service. Animalcouriers arranged her flight and collected her from her London address. She stayed overnight with courier M (a big fan of Goldens) before heading off to Heathrow for the early morning check-in. Ele started life in Kenya and spent a year in the UK for a year before heading home to America.

Rufus and Aggie
Travelling in the opposite direction were lovable duo Rufus and Aggie, who flew with BA to Hong Kong to join their owners. The dogs had to sit out a lengthy wait in Powys before becoming eligible to enter Hong Kong, as their family had travelled from Dubai to the UK before being posted to Hong Kong.
Animalcouriers arranged Rufus and Aggie’s export paperwork and their flight, while Relopaws took care of the dogs when they landed in Hong Kong.
We were pleased to hear from Rufus and Aggie’s family that everything went to plan:
“Many, many thanks for the professional and tireless way you handled the transfer of my daughter’s two retrievers to Hong Kong. Everything went exactly according to plan, just as you promised. Even with complications over non-Euro pet passports and chip-reading, you took everything in your stride. Also your courier was very helpful and supportive, especially with things like getting the dogs into their transport. I would be very happy to recommend Animalcouriers to anyone who has a need to ship animals abroad.”

Rufus and Aggie all settled in
Tandi
Beautiful Tandi moved to join her owners in Bahrain. She was collected from her home in North Wales and stayed at Burntwood Kennels while we organised her export certificate and health check, and her flight with Gulf Air. Tandi was met in Bahrain by Delmon Pet Relocators.

Koda
Koda headed off to New Zealand to catch up with her owners. Koda moved from Grenoble, France to the UK, then waited a month at Burntwood Kennels until she was eligible to enter New Zealand. During this time Animalcouriers made sure Koda had all the correct blood tests and treatments for entry to New Zealand. Koda flew with Qantas to Auckland where she had to spend her first 10 days at Auckland Quarantine Kennels.

Adorable Koda
Steve
Animalcouriers met Steve and his owner at Gatwick Animal Reception for the check-in for their BA flight to Bermuda, having arranged Steve’s flight and his import and export paperwork.

Steve in Bermuda — what a great pile of toys was waiting for this gorgeous fellow!
Margot and Quentin
We collected Margot, a lively, confident Havanese puppy from Bremen, Germany, and delivered to her new owners in Virginia Water.

Cute Margot
She shared the trip from Germany with Quentin, a very gentle, sweet-natured German Shepherd who was travelling a little further than Surrey: Antigua! Quentin flew from Gatwick to meet his new owner Bryan. Animalcouriers took care of Quentin’s health check and arranged his flight with BA.

Luis and Matilda
Just before Christmas, we organised for cats Luis and Matilda to fly with SAS from London to Stockholm, where they were reunited with owner Talia. We first met these super cats nearly six years ago, when they travelled with us by road from Madrid to London.

Bella and Missy
Fabulous felines Bella and Missy travelled from Beirut to the UK via Brussels. Owner Simon sent photos of these two beloved cats, telling us:
“Bella and Missy are settling in well in Elstree thanks to you and your team getting us here from Beirut. You gave me clear good advice especially about paperwork and procedures. Paul was a star courier — calm, friendly, and uncomplaining about the delays caused by traffic around Brussels and the things that often delay you at the Tunnel! Also thank you to Natalie who handled the admin at a stressful time for me. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

Steve and his giant pile of toys makes me laugh. He looks so pleased!
It’s an exceptional pile of toys!
Well how nice everyone did so well on their trips to be reunited with families in new homes. I think Steve definitely made out the best though (!!).
Pam and Teddy too
Long journeys but always worth it!
How exciting. Hope everyone was good at high altitudes.
They all settled in quickly considering the lengths of their journeys.
Quentin is having quite an encounter with that slipper, AC, holding it down so it won’t run away! 🙂 –Curt
You have to be jolly careful with slippers, no knowing what they’ll get up to 😀
Ah. Luis dreaming of a Swedish Christmas. Fine looking dogs.
They do Christmas so well in Sweden, we’re sure Luis had a great time.
I think Tandi is making an early entry for the longest tongue contest! It’s lovely to see so many happy faces.
What a long travel they must have had, Annie, but they look all happy and satisfied in the end 🙂 Lots of passengers from the beginning of 2018 too 😀 Pawkisses for a safe trip ahead 🙂 <3
