Gorgeous Siberian chipmunk Piccola is a returning Animalcouriers passenger. This much-loved pet travelled with us three years ago from Italy to Cambridge in the UK. Now owners Pamela and Dario are heading back to their Italian roots, and Piccola is making the return trip with us.

Piccola has striking markings and a wonderful fluffy tail. She loves snacking on fresh fruit and nuts.

Such a cheeky, intelligent face

Piccola has plenty to entertain her in her spacious cage for the trip

Piccola safely home and settled in
With Piccola safely delivered to her new home in Bolzano, near the Austrian border, Pamela wrote to say:
“Thank you very much for bringing our Piccola back to Italy and for your infinite patience with my hundred emails. We had a very hectic house moving and now we are finally settled and enjoying our new city. Piccola seems happy and enjoying her new home. For us it meant so much that she travelled with you again, the peace of mind knowing she was fine no matter what.”

There’s already snow in the Alps around Piccola’s new home
I always think they know something we never will now… there is a lot of wisdom in their eyes… is that the 4th member of the chipmunk band? maybe I can see it with alvin, theodeore and Iforgetthenameofthethirdguy on the stage once ?
The eyes certainly are deep. Think Piccola would prefer to be a great chef or food taster rather than in a rock band 😀
Squeeeeeeeeeeee ️️️
YUP!
Chipmunk! So cute! I had no idea they had such longevity. So many rodents only live a couple of years.
They’re very cute indeed. Don’t think they have a long lifespan in the wild but can live up to 8 years as pets,
I’d love to run in the snow in that picure!
Piccola looks very cute.
Yes Clowie, the snow was made for you. Not sure if Piccola fancies it much 😉
And this is why Animal Couriers never cease to amaze me….The little chipmunk is beautiful, and I’m so happy she had a safe ride with the best couriers ever!!!
You are sweet!
Wow. I didn’t know chipmunks made good pets. Great post.
They certainly seem to. We’ve travelled with four now and they’ve all been dearly loved.
Piccola looks great. What a treat for you to have her as a repeat customer.
It was indeed a treat — we loved her some much first time round she’s on our home page 😉
Oh how darling!!! And what a spacious cage! I wish we could keep wild animals as pets in the US, but it’s illegal.
Piccola has parents who spoil her rotten — all the toys and cages are wonderful! There certainly are some wild animals you shouldn’t keep as pets but chipmunks seem rather a harmless sort.
Piccola iss adoorabull….how did Lady Pamela an Mistur Dario efurr train a Chipmunk to bee a pet?? Wee wood LUV to have Chasey live with mee… **sighsss**
An his habbytat iss amazin Lady Annie!!!
***nose kissesss*** Siddhartha Henry xxxx
We think Piccola was born in captivity and has always known humans. Much harder if they’re wild from the start!
Wee wondered if he was born in cappytivity Lady Annie….. Piccola iss DA BOMM!!! 😉
Piccola is adorable!! <3
We agree with you there!
What a beautiful chipmunk! I’m just catching up with you now.
