As we travelled south through France and Spain there were reunions aplenty for the pets who’d travelled with us from the UK.
Riley, Boo, Bandit and Cleo
These four cats arrived at their new home in the Dordogne to find all their familiar toys, cat trees and scratching posts in place. After reassuring strokes from their owners, they all headed off in different directions to explore their new environment.

Riley can hardly wait to get going

Boo checks out the shower room

Cleo and Bandit are a blur of fur!

The tiny dog from next door wanted to know what was going on

We enjoyed some fabulous scenery around Sarlat, including this ancient castle

Giant cèpes on the roundabout…

Giant truffles on another…

And a giant wine bottle outside this caveau!
Russo
After a night in Narbonne we headed to the Girona area where Maine Coon Russo and his owner Cynthia are all set to enjoy a seaside holiday.

Big hugs for Russo from Cynthia

Russo soon heads off upstairs to check everything’s in order

The stunning coastline around Russo’s holiday home
Tula
From Girona it was a fairly short hop to Barcelona to deliver American Bulldog Tula to Fiona. The lunchtime smells from the restaurants were tantalising as we met up with Fiona near the busy market streets of Las Ramblas.

Tula reunited with Fiona

Tula gives us a great grin

A small corner of beautiful Barcelona
Florence and Milly
We met up with Florence and Milly’s owners at a busy bus station, and hear later they they’d safely reached their new home in the mountains above Benidorm.

What a happy girl!
Mia
Eleanor was very excited at being reunited with her Collie cross Labrador Mia in Murcia.

Out walking in Cubelles, what caught Mia’s eye?

She was looking at a monument to clown Charlie Rivel, who was born in Cubelles

Eleanor sent us this photo of the toys and treats that were waiting for Mia at her new home

If Mia had wagged her tail any harder, we think it would have flown off!

Sheer joy
Deegan and Cooper
Cocker Spaniels, Deegan and Cooper arrived at Amberlodge Kennels and Cattery in Elche, where they’ll have a short stay while their owners complete their move.

They’re such a lively pair

Deegan and Cooper checked in to the Hilton Suite. Other suites include The Grand and The Savoy!

In Elche we admired ancient olive trees…

…and laden pomegranate trees
Bella
Jack Russell Bella had a crazy happy reunion with her owners in Los Narejos.

Delighted to be back together

Bella couldn’t stop kissing everyone
Phoebe
Phoebe’s reunion in Torremolinos was extra special as it coincided with her owner’s birthday. Phoebe dashed off to explore, then came back for cat treats and a nibble of grass from her old garden in the UK.
Phoebe’s owners wrote to say:
“We would just like to thank you soooooo much for looking after Phoebe. She’s doing really well — although we did buy a Feliway plug for her, she slept in the kitchen as normally, no crying, and she loves the aircon upstairs. We would definitely recommend you and we are so glad we decided to choose you. From the beginning to the end was brilliant.”

Welcoming cuddles for fabulous Phoebe

Grass from the UK — customs officers on the French/Spanish border had tasted it to check it really was just grass!

Phoebe looked settled and ready to join the party as we left
Humphrey and Spiney
We delivered tortoise Humphrey and iguana Spiney to their new Spanish home in the hills above Estepona. The whole family was on hand to welcome them, including the dogs who’d travelled with Animalcouriers on an earlier trip, and came rushing out to see the van.

Spiney enjoyed a sumptuous lettuce leaf breakfast
Great photos of beautiful scenery and happy animals.
They do travel well and arrive ready for those reunions!
Love the turtle in the header and lots of great photos as usual.
We thought Humphrey merited his own header!
Great reunions and beautiful pictures.
There were some very happy pets and people.
We want to say thank you so much Animal Couriers for taking such care of our Bella – she arrived in fine form after boarding with you for a few days before her European adventure. We are so pleased we chose Animal Couriers to arrange her transport to Murcia and would not hesitate to recommend your wonderful caring service. Needless to say Bella has settled well and particularly enjoys early morning walks by the sea and siesta time !!
Thanks once again from us all
Thanks for your kind words Bridget & Ken. Bella was a great passenger, a pleasure to have on board. Delighted that she’s settled well and is getting the hang of Spanish living! Wishing you all a very happy time in Murcia.
