Meet our passengers from Portugal, Spain and France
Couriers S and G have been scooping up gorgeous pets who are heading towards the UK.
Stumpy and Tigz joined us at La Linea. Owner Mike walked across from Gibraltar to meet us. These two firm friends will have a short stay in a cattery once we reach the UK, while Mike rides his motorbike back.
Tigz caught cat napping!
Labrador Liza got on board in Faro. She’s travelling with us to Felixstowe where the family is relocating, Mum Vera, a firefighter, came to see her off.
We called in at Barking Mad kennels to visit old friend Heather and Alan, and were joined by an Animalcouriers fan club! Front left, Maureen and Fred, whose water dog we transported about nine years ago. Front right, Elaine and Andy, whose three cats travelled with us a couple of months ago.
Perfect Panda hopped on board in Lisbon
Panda’s owner, a doctor, has gone on ahead to Newcastle, and a kindly neighbour has been looking after Panda in the meantime. She insisted on seeing Panda all the way to his bedroom!
Portuguese custard tarts — an Animalcouriers tradition!
Stunning Hamlet joined our trip in Madrid. He’s such a chilled cat, his owner simply carried him out of the car, and he was completely unfazed about being handled in an unfamiliar environment.
Hamlet and his family are relocating to Brighton. Here he is keeping an expectant eye on meal preparation.
Beautiful Belle also met us in the Madrid area. She’s on her way to Bedfordshire to rejoin her owner. Despite being blind, she’s a cheerful character who loves going for walks and being stroked.
We collected gorgeous Taco in Gandesa. Believed to be a Podenco cross, he’s on his way to start a new life in the UK. Originally a stray, he moved in with a family who were happy to have him. When other family visited from the UK, the children so fell in love with this cheeky chappie they begged to take him back to the UK with them.
We stopped off in Toulouse to pick up super friendly Tikal, who welcomed us at the door with big purrs, and rubbed against our legs
That’s it from us for a couple of weeks, as summer holidays kick in. We look forward to sharing more stories with you from mid-August onwards.
