Having delivered all of our outbound passengers from the UK, Animalcouriers set off to collect pets heading to the UK.
Xavi and Pedro
These two gorgeous Portuguese Water Dog puppies belong to Gerard, who’s relocating to Surrey.
Nami and Poppy
Global Pets, based in Lisbon, asked us to transport Nami and Poppy on their behalf. These two lovely dogs belong to Igo and Iris. Web designer Igo has a new job in the UK, and both he and Iris are very excited about relocating.
Iris
Another client of Global Pets, pretty black-and-white cat Iris is moving to the UK. She’s been in the care of her grandparents, who gave her lots of kisses and cuddles before placing her in her cat basket. A language barrier meant that concerned grandma and grandpa asked an English-speaking friend to pass an important message on to us by phone — which was to not take Iris out for walks, as she’s a house cat.
In fact, we never let any cats out of their bedrooms in our van. Once they’re settled in and we’re happy they’re comfortable, it’s better for them to stay that way. As well as giving them food and water, and cleaning their litter trays, we stroke, tickle and talk to them — but never risk their safety by taking them out.
Basil, Spike, Ebony and Oli
These four fab felines are relocating from Spain’s Alicante region to the Peterborough area, to rejoin owners Sara and Francis. Our friend Francisco from Automascotas collected them from Casa Antigua in Calpe and brought them to us in Burgos, which meant we could shorten our journey by a day — a good thing for both pets and couriers.

A fine Spanish breakfast of fried eggs and Burgos black pudding — one of courier M’s favourites. He’s pleased to have learned recently that black pudding is considered a superfood!
Snails
We’re sometimes called upon to do unusual things… this time, it was to collect some snails from a snail farm outside Ciudad Rodrigo. They’re required by someone in the UK who’s working on snails, and this snail farm is the main breeder of the requested strain.
Archie
Fox Terrier Archie is leaving the Dordogne and heading to Hailsham. He’ll stay at Burntwood Kennels for a couple of weeks until Joanna and her mum are back in the UK.
Jalankayacat
This exquisite Singapura cat is travelling from old friends of Animalcouriers, Jackie and Steven, in Goujonac, to join Jean in the Midlands — who’s also a friend of ours.
Jackie and Steven have been breeding Singapuras for many years, and are determined that the breed should continue. They’re fragile little cats, and raising a litter involves lots of TLC. Jackie and Steven obviously get it right — they have more than 15 adult cats and have just welcomed a litter of six.
Well done.
It’s a big group of travellers this time.
Another load of adorable kitties and cute dogs.
We are blessed with some very lovely passengers. We’re sure the snails are jolly too but we don’t speak snail 😉
Well, with this load I wouldn´t mind to travel. Such beautiful kitties! And dogs too!! I really miss my two babies… but I know they are being well looked after. Thank you guys 🙂
Hi Flavia, haven’t we got a gorgeous bunch of travellers! Lua and Nina are doing just fine.
Not familiar with Singapuras but what a lovely breed! Everyone else looks ready for “the off” and to reunite with family. Great photos as always!
Hugs, Sammy and Pam
Singapuras are a very special breed. So small yet so gorgeous!
Another great bunch. Have to say that the Portugese water dogs and the Yorkipoo tugged at my heart, but the Singapura is definitely a special breed. I’ve never heard of such, much less seen one. It’s beautiful. I would be thrilled to send some snails to anyone wanting them.
Indeed, another great bunch of lovelies. It feels like we have a snail farm on our vines this year but of course they wouldn’t be a special enough variety to open up a farm shop 😉
😉 My two vines are finally producing and it’s the first time I’ve found a snail on one. 🙁
Such a well-rounded crew traveling this time-I always learn something interesting about locales and animals when I read your posts-one thing for sure-there are a lot of caring animal-lovers in the world!
So glad you enjoy our travels. There certainly are a lot of caring animal lovers in the world 😀
Thank you for transporting Jalankayu Merlion quickly and safely.
Very much our pleasure – a gorgeous fellow!
Beautiful, as well as unusual passengers! I bet the snails were pretty quiet the whole trip 🙂
Singapuras are a breed I am unfamiliar with. Gorgeous, gorgeous cats. They do look tiny. And a litter of six newcomers!
