Bonnie travelled with Animalcouriers on our last trip from Greece to the UK. She was rescued from the streets of Lesvos by Rebecca from Lesvos Stray Dog and Cat Adoptions. Animalcouriers sponsored Bonnie’s trip to the UK, confident that this lovely girl would soon find her forever home.
Well, she did — with couriers J and R! Very sadly they recently lost their 16-year-old Welsh Collie, Billywhizz — but his spirit now lives on in Bonnie. Due to spend just one night at courier J’s before being fostered by Wendy, Bonnie unpacked her bags, took a look around — and decided to stay.
Resident hound Pugsley quickly bonded with her and they’ve become great friends, tumbling around, sharing beds, and arguing over bones. All just as it should be. Courier J says:
“While we still miss Billy and always will, Bonnie is very welcome. Strangely, she does a lot of the things Billy used to do — including pre-washing the dishes in the dishwasher, and lying across our feet while we work! Or is that something all dogs do?”
Oh now the song fits… My Bonnie is over the ocean :o) (well nearly lol) I’m so sorry that they lost their beloved Billywhizz…. but I know Bonnie will heal their heavy heart with a lot of love :o)
Bonnie certainly is helping heal their hearts. She’s settling in beautifully.
I’m so pleased Bonnie found her forever home. Lucky girl!
It is wonderful news all round.
I was so pleased to see Bonnie has found a good home. I knew the right one was out there somewhere and J & R couldn’t be luckier to have her.
Pugsley reminds me of our Honey who has been with us three months now. Am sure she doesn’t miss the cold Italian winters!!! The photo reminds me of Honey and Rollo who curl up together on the settee – they wouldn’t fit into a dog bed! Keep up the good work. Love reading all about your travels.
Isn’t it super news! Great to hear Honey has settled in well – bet she and Rollo look wonderful cuddling together.
Love to read about forever homes.
Always brings a smile.
This is wonderful news……Bonnie has a home and a new pal and I just love HAPPY ENDINGS !!!
Pam and Sam
This is a particularly favourite happy ending for us! Billywhizz is a hard act to follow but Bonnie is stepping up to the mark very well 😀
That is Pawsome New,I do love a happy ending,xx Speedy
Oh, so do we Speedy!
I always like your photos of animals (along with the good things you do), but I just wanted to say that first photo of Bonnie and Pugsley sharing a bed was really touching. –Curt
It is a darling photo – Pugsley is such a gent, making Bonnie welcome immediately. Mind you, it’s a different matter with treats 😉
So good that you guys have helped rehome stray dogs in Greece, Bonnie is so fortunate, so wonderful! I just rehomed two rescues here in Ecuador that I found last year on the streets, we have to do what we can for the strays. Its a wonderful feeling to find them good foreverhomes after you know what they have been through.
It did work out very well for Bonnie! Great news you’ve had success with rehoming – it’s never obvious or easy.
I love happy endings. Bonnie’s is a nice ‘tail’.
Hugs
It’s a very nice ‘tail’ indeed. Hugs back
Luvluvluv happy tails endings. Bonnie is the cutest woofie and she and Pugsley are precious together. What a great life after living through who knows what on the streets of Greece.
Bonnie & Pugsley are great together – it’s such a sweet photo. Don’t think Bonnie will be looking back much 😀
It was so wonderful of you all to sponsor the trip and I am glad Bonnie found her forever home. She and Pugsley look so cute together. Bonnie also clearly knows that carrots are good for you. 😀
Bonnie knows everything that’s good for her and is learning items to add to the list by the day! She and Pugsley do look very good together 😀
Yay for Bonnie!!! That picture of Bonnie and Pugsley says it all — Family!
Loving that carrot.
So good to hear that Bonnie found a forever home!
