Animalcouriers set off from the UK with dogs, cats and a rabbit on board, all heading for Spain. In France we collected another canine passenger who’d travelling all the way to Portugal with us.
Sookie, Aggie, Ruel and Yowie
Super furry Newfoundland Sookie lives with three glamorous cats — Burmese Aggie and Ruel, and Maine Coon Yowie. All four have been staying at a local kennels and cattery near our office in West Sussex. They belong to Chris and his family, who’ve gone on ahead to their new home in Arboleas, Spain. We’re quite sure the red carpet will be rolled out ready when this fearless foursome arrives!
Bebe
Laura lives in London, where her landlord asked her to send her rabbit, Bebe, away, as he believed a local mouse infestation might have had something to do with Bebe’s presence in the flat. Of course we all know that simply can’t be true. Laura was understandably very upset, but fortunately grandmama in Madrid has come to the rescue, and will look after Bebe until Laura goes back to Madrid later this year.
Laura was missing Bebe last night and texted us to let Bebe know — normally they watch TV together in the evenings.
Gaby
Having crossed the Channel we spent the night in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. After a windy morning walk with Sookie, we popped along to Cucq to meet Gaby, a gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Gaby’s owner is in Lisbon, and the family were unsure how to get Gaby from Le Touquet to Lisbon. Fortunately, we can make the connection by road and speed Gaby to Portugal.

It was a blustery morning for our walk at Le Touquet, but Sookie didn’t feel a thing through all that thick fur!
Last night in the Charente
Last night we stopped near Angoulême and grabbed a winter deal at a domaine that offered everything we needed — guaranteed good parking, lovely people to welcome us, and a delightful estate for dog walks. By the time Sookie and courier J had walked round the lake and up the hill and back, both were puffing! Courier J even had to give Sookie a leg up into the van! Gaby, on the other hand, in true Cavalier style, was worn out after just 20 minutes, so sat down with courier J to enjoy the view.
Bunny = mice! That’s a new one. We have more cats, and coincidently more mice! Hmmm! Maybe cats = mice as well. Najar caught a mouse the other day and was torturing it, then Spunk took it away from her and was torturing himself, so I took it from Spunk and killed it since it was very badly injured. Spunk looked really sad, so I gave the dead mouse back to him. He was happy, started playing with it, batted it around and promptly knocked it under the refrigerator, then laid on the floor with both paws under the refrigerator looking at me like “I lost my mouse!” I got a stick and managed to get the mouse from under the fridge, took it outside and gave it to the wild critters. Silly cats. You sure had a load of lovelies accompany you to Spain and Portugal.
My landlord is a dickhead and has lost a good tenat for his incompetence.
What a foolish fellow he is.
Yup, first we’d heard of the ’cause and effect’ of keeping a rabbit! Cats and mice, what fun and games the combination leads to.
All those lovely animals and a big, bulging tart as well – can’t beat that!!
A tart from Paul is guaranteed to keep courier J smiling all day 🙂
I think it would be fun to have a rabbit to watch TV with. But then I do have a deer that comes to our door everyday and politely requests an apple to eat. 🙂 –Curt
Bebe actually loves the Sky News !!! Im not kidding!
Would love to see that Laura!
Polite requests from deer at the door would be granted any time!
Nice looking tart.
Very carfully guarded by courier J – no sharing allowed.
ohhhh I love that calico’s back half face!
Isn’t she a stunner!
Another large group of travelers – handsome group too! That strawberry tart is – well – AMAZING!
Pam
They certainly ara gorgeous lot. You can admire courier J’s tart but sadly she doesn’t share 😀
So difficult to be separated from your pet.
Especially if, like Laura, the reaon behind the separation is so tenuous.
oh all this wonderful eyes :o) I love the wild hairstyle newfie-pups have, they always look like rock stars from the 80’s (without aquanet of course lol)
You’re right, they sure do have rock star looks, even if it’s from the 80s 😀
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING CARE OF BEBE SO WELL. IT IS SAFE AT HOME NOW.
Our pleasure! Great that Grandma can look after Bebe until you can get back.
I’m guessing that despite his size, Sookie is not the boss in this home
Sookie is gorgeous!
