Animalcouriers is on one of our regular scheduled trips through France and Spain. The first pets to join us were Veronica’s extremely sociable and intelligent rabbits, Canela and Becky, who’ve been homeboarding with courier J. Veronica is a nurse and has been working in Glasgow, but will shortly be on her way back to Elche in Spain. Veronica’s parents and sister will take care of Canela and Becky until Veronica arrives.
Another pet on her way back to Spain is Princessa. This sweet little dog, originally a rescue from Spain, came to the UK with her owners. But they quickly realised they wanted to go back to Spain, and asked us to transport Princessa for them. There were lots of hugs and cuddles when we collected her in Lancashire for her journey to Almeria.
Rover the cat has the shortest journey with us, from Devon to Saint Maurin in the Lot-et-Garonne. This 16-year-old cutie used to live in Saint Maurin, then moved to the UK with her owners. Now the whole family is back together in Saint Maurin after a two-month separation.
Lhassa Apsos Wendy and her son Freddie are escaping the London chill for the warmer weather of Spain’s Alicante region. They enjoy sniffing around on their walks and seem very relaxed about the whole business of travelling. Owner Abigail was delighted to be reunited with them following several months apart.
The well named Bella is moving from Cambridge to the Almeria region of Spain. Like any sensible puss, she spends the day tucked up in bed napping, pops out for supper, then heads back to bed for another 40 winks. She’ll reach her destination very well rested!
In Paris we met up with Irish Collie Foxydog. This is her third journey with us — in 2012 we transported her from Ireland to Spain, when owner Jorge made the same move; and the following year we took her from Spain to Paris when Jorge relocated there. Jorge now now has to go to Switzerland for a few weeks, and Foxydog will spend that time with his family in Spain, who are very excited at the prospect.
Lovely Staffie Poppy is travelling with us to Portugal from the Lot-et-Garonne region of France, where her family runs a horse stud. Her owner has moved to a stud in Portugal, and has asked his mother to send Poppy to join him, as he’s missing her badly. We reckon it’s his mum who’ll miss Poppy now, given the lace pillows, pink blanket and white diamante collar and lead that are accompanying Poppy on her travels!
Mewow I am always impressed that all of your numerous species of travelers do so calmly and seem to tolerate one another. Do you ever have kitties that sing the whole way to their destination? I suppose a guardian would only transport a tolerant of traveling kitty this way. Mine would unfortunately not be candidates to ride with your wonderful service as they do not like one another and practically have a heart attack riding to the vet 5 minutes away!
I love how well you care for your furry clients comfort and safety, I would feel so much better with a service such as yours rather than subjecting my furry family members to a flight in the luggage cabin.
Bella is indeed gorgeous! That velvety chocolate and glossy fur- is she an Oriental Shorthair? I adore this breed and have always desired a panther one, but now am adding a chocolate one too!
Happy travelers and happy reunions……….nice combination of photos today!!!!!
Hugs, Sammy
oh that pups know how to celebrate howl-o-ween :o) have a good trip, hope efurrything is ok when you cross the channel… (they had the happenings around the tunnel in the news, it gaves me the shivers…)
Who wouldn’t want to swap the chilly UK for a spot of sunshine
It is amazing how these pets adjust so well to traveling.
I love how you make everyone so happy!
safe travels lovelys
Thanks guys!
haha…the halloween eyes are great! Is this your first rabbit? I don’t remember seeing a rabbit before. You guys do it all!!! And as lovely as Bella is…that look has me laughing. She looks a tad confused.
Funnily enough we’ve had lots of bunny passengers, even shipping the son of the biggest bunny in the world to the US 😀 Bella really wasn’t that pleased to have the paparazzi shoving a camera in her face during supper 😉
The fact that you have such wonderful “repeat” passengers speaks so highly of your organization, and I am not surprised in the least. Please travel safely as you make your way around Europe with these delightful passengers!! 🙂
Thanks Red Man – we’ll keep safe with our precious cargo!
Having a cat called Rover rather makes it look as though you didn’t quite get what you wanted when you went to the poet shop. It’s like having a daughter called John.
It is rather. The other possibility is the difficulty of sexing a kitten – happened to us with our very pretty girl Bertram 😉
This is not a field in which I have any expertise.
Or perhaps Rover is descriptive, doing more visiting or meandering than she (he?) ought?
Hadn’t thought of that! Highly possible too knowing cats 😀
What an exotic face Bella has! Your posts always make me smile. Thank you.
long story, short: admiration and respect…
Spooky dogs. As for sexing kittens, we once had a Brunhilda who turned out to be a Rasputin. 🙂 –Curt
You have some gorgeous passengers there!
Up to their usual standard!
Like VERY much! So many little life stories – short or shorter, but always full of adventure. Thank you.
