While couriers J, M and others have been transporting pets around Europe over the past few months, other members of the Animalcouriers team have been busy organising air freight for pets travelling somewhat further afield. Here are just a few of their stories.
Tilly, a very entertaining young King Charles Cavalier, home boarded with Animalcouriers while she waited for her Indonesian paperwork to be ready. She was a very engaging young lady and we were rather sorry to see her go!
Globe-trotting Rhea lived in the Caribbean before moving to the UK for a while. Her latest trip was with Virgin to Johannesburg to rejoin her South African owner, who had travelled on ahead to get everything ready for her arrival.
Lovely Molly, a Spanish Water dog joined her new family in Bermuda. Molly was bred by Rita at Zulusky, who we first met a couple of years ago when we drove Curiosa from Spain to Lincolnshire.
Four pets travelled to New Zealand. Handsome hound Louis flew with Air New Zealand to Auckland and spent his 10-day quarantine at Pethaven; while fluffy tabby cat Taffy opted to fly with Qantas and spend his quarantine at QPS.
Meanwhile, cat Marmalade and canine chum Libby flew with Emirates to Christchurch and stayed at Canterbury Quarantine Kennels. Their owner had gone on ahead to New Zealand, so relied on good friends, as well as Sara, a very helpful vet in Leeds and Animalcouriers to organise all the vet visits and paperwork.
We were delighted to catch up again with black cat Clark, who belongs to Sabra. We first met Clark when we moved him to northern Spain, then we brought him back to the UK after Sabra had completed the Spain-based element of her language course. Sabra and family flew home to Seattle earlier in the summer, where Clark has now joined them. Sabra wrote to say:
“How can we thank you for your wonderful care of Clark? He arrived safely and is busy investigating his new/old home. Many thanks to you all.”
Jack Russell Jack travelled from France to the UK with us earlier the year so that his Australian paperwork could be completed. He recently flew to Melbourne and has now been reunited with his owner Frank, who moved to Adelaide to be nearer his grandchildren. Jack emailed us on his arrival, saying:
“South of France to south Australia!!! Took care of me all the way, a good job well done. My master also tells me you kept him up to date as to my whereabouts and health frequently. Have no hesitation in recommending your team to anyone. Thanks a million.”
Animalcouriers also provides a collection service for pets arriving at UK airports, and we recently collected Nelson who arrived from Australia. We also organised flights from Faro in Portugal to Manchester for Betty and Minnie, where we collected them and drove them the rest of the way to their new home in Aberdeen. Kelly told us: “Just wanted to say the girls are doing very well, slept most of the day today but happy to be home.”
And finally, you may remember the story of Honi, whose owner Carla ran into difficulties getting Honi from the UK to Ecuador, and asked Animalcouriers for help. Carla recently published Honi’s story on her blog, along with that of Honi’s canine sister Poppy. They really are a pair of globe-trotting hounds!

Is Rhea from the Caribbean? We have a “potlicker” dog from Belize.
It amazes me to read about all these jet setting kitties and pups…and I wonder if a haircut is in order for Molly? Bermuda is a bit sticky for so much hair.
What globe trotters indeed ! and all done with love and care..bravo Annie and team..always love to see these animals all reunited withe their clearly doting peeps 🙂 Hugs Bev xxz
What a bunch of sweeties! (that goes for Animal Couriers and this group of pets as well!!!!!)
Hugs, Pam and Sam
You all are getting out all over the place.
Bunch of beauties!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I feeling slightly envious as most of these adorable four legged friends are better travelled than I am
Well done Animal Couriers 🙂
Gosh, I can’t believe the work you all do – sending these wonderful creatures all over the world to be with their families – Bravo!! All of us at Casa de Canterbury send you Paw Snaps and Twirls tonight and wish safe travels for all of you and your charges.
I’d say it’s a toss up as to who is cuter, Tilly or Tina. As for Nelson, wrinkly dogs always make me smile. –Curt
They’ve covered a lot of miles between them!
Betty and Minnie look hard at work resting! All beautiful passengers. 🙂
Did anyone tell Nelson he might have chosen a poor time of year to leave Australia? He is going to get two winters in a row (not that Australian winter is that bad).
Molly, Betty and Minnie sure took it in their stride AC. 😆 Always great to see them all happy in their homes. You are doing such a wonderful job with all of them. 😀
We have missed this so much! Great to see all the reunited families and what a wonderful job you do 🙂 Extra Pawkisses for a great weekend 🙂 <3
Hi guys, missed your adventures while I was on vacation, slowly catching up. Everyone is looking great.
