Having delivered cats Willow and Teddy to their owners in Brittany, and Hector to his family near Paris, Animalcouriers headed for the border with Italy. We stopped near Geneva to collect Yellow Labrador Bumble, who’s been staying with Rowena and her Golden Retriever Rusty. Bumble is travelling with us to rejoin Jude, Roger and family, who’ve gone on ahead to Athens where Roger is working in shipping.
Once across the border, we stopped in Milan to deliver Iorek to Nadia, who welcomed him on behalf of Isabella, who’s following on from Birmingham. The whole family turned out to greet him!
Then it was on to the picturesque town of Monterchi in Tuscany, to reunite bewhiskered black-and-white puss Tubbo with Ian and family. Monterchi boast the only known depiction of a pregnant Madonna — unfortunately we couldn’t stop to see it, but fortunately Wikipedia came up trumps.
This morning we drove to Naples where we reunited Beagles Bertie and Ted with their owner Robert, who’s on an attachment with NATO. These lucky dogs are just a couple of minutes from the beach, and have a nature reserve on their doorstep that contains some ancient ruins. With their noses, perhaps they’ll sniff out some antique treasures!
it must be great to be a Courier at AC… it’s not only bringing pets from a to b it’s delivering joy and happiness and it’s a little like a howl-i-day to see so much great places :o) btw: but don’t hire my mom, she is a bad weather on wheels and a public danger lol

Your Mom sure does come with a public health warning 😀
That sounds like a complicated trip! It’s good to see so many smiling faces.
That roundabout in Italy is quite something!
We’re continually entranced by the roundabouts we see on our journeys.
There were no comments when i got here – and still Easy beat me by 2 minutes!
How on earth does he do it? 😀
It’s a mystery!
How lovely that Iorek had a big bunch of family welcoming him when he arrived home! Everyone else looks quite happy and sunflowers are ALWAYS happy!
Pam and Sam
Iorek’s greeting party were so happy to see him! Can’t be gloomy surrounded by sunflowers 😀
Pizza and sunflowers to top it all off! Plus all the beauties. Lovely photos.
Yes, that pizza has me drooling!
Yellow labs and sunflowers, pizza and whiskers, beagles and giant Les Paul guitars. Definitely some of my favorite things!
Ours too but you’ve given us a terrible earworm 😀
Just take a spoon fun of sugar then! Oh! wait! I believe I’m mixing musicals 😉
Stop right there!
Mixed breeds, mixed musicals? Fun! Fun! Fun! BTW Do you run into the Tour de France on any of your adventures?
beautiful sunflowers and that pizza made me hungry.
Food porn!
That Italian roundabout is a marvel.
Wonder if it ever gets any passengers.
Pizza, sunflowers, happy animals — AND a horse drawn carriage hedge. Now that is a trip.
Something for everyone!
Love the scenery you share along with the fur-persons!
we do get to see some wonderful things!
what wouldn’t I give to walk through that field of sunflowers although as I’m on crutches at present might have to wait a while
Yikes Dallas – what on earth happened? Hope you’re mending fast – keep that thought of walking through sunflowers when you’re better.
Delighted to hear that Iorek has settled well – sensible chap to head for the water whenever he can! He was a pleasure to spend time with and we wish you all well in Italy. Keep cool!
