After collecting Duchess and Maisie, Animalcouriers continued towards the French border, picking up more passengers along the way.
You may remember the story of Bandit — Christine had left her three cats, Cookie, Molli and Whiskey at a cattery in Javea, but sadly the cattery owner died. Lesley from Kittycare Cattery in Onil collected the cats and took them for microchipping and rabies vaccinations so they could get pet passports. However, Whiskey turned out not to be Whiskey at all, but a clever lookey-likey who’d spotted the opportunity for a new home.
Cat-lover Christine opened her heart to this intrepid stray, named him Bandit and decided to adopt him. Lesley dashed back to collect the real Whiskey, who travelled with Cookie and Molli last month. Now that his passport is ready, Bandit is on his way to join his new family.
Jodie is another cat-lover — while living on Ibiza she befriended a family of five cats — three kittens, their mum, and another young male. Jodie has moved to Wales, and the famous five are now on their way to join her. Jodie’s friend Ana accompanied them on the ferry to Denia, where she was met by Casa Antigua kennels and cattery who looked after them until we arrived.
Further north we picked up Catherine’s beautiful dog Floc in Girona, who’ll be met by Catherine’s daughter Debbie in the UK. From there we continued into France and spent the night near Narbonne.
Our first stop this morning was in Ruffec in the Charente to collect Pushkin. His family have already left for the UK and their neighbours are kindly overseeing Pushkin’s departure.
Then it was off to Rochechouart in the Limousin to collect tabby cat George. His owner, Jenny, has gone on ahead to the UK and George has been waiting for us at Caring Cattery, run by Barbara, an old friend of Animalcouriers. George is an affectionate fellow who greeted us with a ‘scratch my head’ sort of tone in his voice. Jenny was quite concerned about George travelling, but Barbara has reassured her. George himself seems pretty chilled out about the whole business.
Nice to see so many cats on board 🙂 Tigre and Hippi will have plenty of company
Tigre and Hippi had lots of feline company on the trip – everyone was very inquisitive 😉
Great post, as per usual… Bandit is such a cute kitten <3
Wishing you a great week ahead. All the very best to you,
Aquileana 😀
Glad you enjoyed it! Bandit is a winner. Hope you’re having a great week too 😀
Dexter is certainly suited to your autumnal surroundings – or is that him being chameleon-ish? I’m wondering why he has to have a bath after eating…… did your advisers say why?
We’d be worried to have Dexter surrounded by leaves as we’d never find him 😀 Suspect it’s cos he got rather messy 😉
Ah 😀
Perhaps it would just be easier to give Dexter a bib? I hope he’s not as grumpy as he looks or maybe that’s just deep thoughtfulness and contemplation.
You made us laugh thinking about tying a bib round Dexter’s neck 😀 He’s not nearly as grumpy as he looks and coped well with many new situations.
Is there a cat in the world which you have not transported? Dexter is a treat.
It did feel like we had a rather good cross section of the cat world along this time. Dexter was a treat for us too.
Clever Bandit! And remind me NOT to invite Dexter for dinner will ya? eeeewwww. Sorry Dex..not judging but don’t think I could sit through a noshpit with you.
Bandit sure did pull a clever one off! Yes, having to deal with his live worms did involve a little fun and games 😉
I’m happy to let Dexter be the ‘early bird’ 🙂
Dexter is a different sort of adventure for you guys!
Yes, very exotic and beautifully coloured.
wow! Quite the mixture of pets today!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Yes, Dexter did spice our lives up!
What a crew! Hooray for Bandit and his stealthiness. Love the cat passengers, of course. But that Dexter is quite handsome.
Bandit sure did win out big time! Dexter is very handsome and surprisingly colourful.
Love, love the cats. Bandit is a very wise cat and oh so lucky to be going to a lovely home with the other kitties. The dragon is too cute. He looks very healthy and has a wonderful responsible owner who knows what sort of care he needs.
We always ask for very precise instructions when dealing with exotic pets. Their needs are so different from our usual passengers and keeping their environment and food right is so important.
Great crew this trip.
Dexter did add a little spice 😉
Dexter is a bit out of the usual for you folks! What a great bunch you have there.
The cats are all delightful but Dexter did add a bit of variety 😉
WOW that’s quite a diverse group of intrepid travelers this time! I assume after Dexter has had his dinner he “does his business” and needs to be in the water for that????? Interesting. Sweet kittens and cats…..I hope everything turns out well for EVERYONE!
Pam and Sam
Yes, we did have to get lots of advice in advance on how best to deal with Dexter and his very different needs 😉
Bandit, that’s THE name for you! And I totally love Tortellini :o)
Bandit has all bases covered! We’ve fallen for Tortelinni too 😀
I’m not tempted by Dexters dinner, think I’ll stick to my Harringtons dog food thank you very much!
Think even we would stick to Harringtons! Know the dogs and cats would 😀
Yeah, don’t handle beardies too soon after they’ve eaten super-worms, either. Don’t ask me how I know.
Perhaps it’s best if we don’t go there 😀
I don’t much like the look of Dexter’s dinner! I hope he enjoyed it though!
We have to say ‘each to his own’!
Dexter is toooo cute. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😉
He is a gorgeous fellow!
Dexter sure is strikingly handsome!
He is a striking fellow!
After a truly awful week I knew that if I started reading your posts it would restore my faith in humanity and you didn’t disappoint
Oh, what a relief we could come to your aid! Hope things get better for you.
