Meet our passengers travelling to Spain and Portugal

Animalcouriers has set off from the UK with pets on board who are heading to Spain and Portugal.

Our first stop was to collect Brockman and Muller in Wales. These two English Bulldogs — known affectionately as Slug and Slobber — are off to Cadiz in Spain, where their footballing owner has relocated to play for a Spanish team. They’re a fine pair of dogs with massive personalities and very charming smiley faces.

Lovely trio Spanish Water Dog Lola, Jack Russell Terrier Millie and Maine Coon Alfie joined us in Lancashire and are travelling with us to Portugal. With shiny new passports and smart haircuts all three were ready for the off when we arrived. We’ll be dropping them off for a short stay at Barking Mad Kennels until their owners arrive.

German Shepherd Dog Nanook met us at the door when we called in to collect her in Lincolnshire. She’s travelling with us to Seville in Spain, where her family are relocating. She’s a sweetheart of a dog who quickly made friends with Brockman and Muller. Nanook recently lost her canine companion and a new chum will be introduced to her in Spain when her family arrive to join her.

From there it was off to France, where we stopped near the southern town of Narbonne to collect Jackie’s three cats and two dogs. Over the years we’ve helped Jackie and family make a number of house moves. Around 11 years ago she moved from Wales to the Andalucia region of Spain with her four cats, then she relocated to France. Now four years later everyone’s heading to the Costa del Sol in Malaga to reconnect with old friends. Naturally some pets have come and gone over time. The current line-up — cats Blackie, Maisie and Madge, and dogs Coco and Derecha — will have a short stay in kennels while the final touches are put to their new Spanish home.

Such an interesting collection of breeds coloring and shapes. Millie’s coat markings look unique.

I think Lola may be one of the most popular names of all your passengers. I love it even though it does remind me of Barry Manilow

It is very popular but we did have one Lola who was very much a showgirl!

It looks like Blackie has bloodshot eyes. Could it be that he was partying into the wee hours before his departure. Great name, slobber. I laughed. My basset hound could have had that name. When we were eating something he really liked, the slobber started to run. He could stand in the middle of our living room, shake his head, and slime both walls. 🙂 –Curt
