Edwin arrives in Berlin; and Jess, Walt and Bella get on board

Silver tabby Edwin’s owner Anne rang Animalcouriers to say her flight to Berlin was horribly delayed, making our planned rendezvous impossible. Fortunately, vet Kai-Uwe Dix was willing to step into the breach to cat-sit (and doubtless pamper) Edwin until Anne arrived.

So courier S was able to be on her way to collect Jess and Walt. These two gorgeous tabby cats are heading with their owner Hannah back to Sheffield, following a year of studying in Berlin. Hannah says it’s been the best year ever and she would love to come back (with Jess and Walt, of course). Hannah adopted these two cats from a Spanish rescue organisation. As kittens, they had lived on the streets, but now lead a cosy indoor life.

From Berlin it was off to Stuttgart to pick up Bella. A Rottie cross, this beautiful dog is heading back from Germany to the US with her family. She’s travelling with us by road to London, and will fly from Heathrow to San Antonio later in the week, once her paperwork and health checks are complete.

Today we’re driving into France and are en route to Calais for our crossing to the UK.

Such a relief for Anne that Edwin was given a safe haven – travelling timetables are not to be relied upon as we know only too well.

I like the two black dogs in the header. Quite an interesting trip around collecting the pets. The cats made me smile. So Bella is headed back to San Antonia. Hope her trip is a good one. SA is 200 miles south of where I live.

Oh how good of the vet to help with Edwin…always great to have a back up..and as for the cats and dogs and snails…well what a great collection of travellers…snail might need a hand though 😉 hugs Fozziemum xx

Yes, with a van full of passengers and other pick ups scheduled that evening it would have been hard to hang around waiting. Lucky for Edwin, Anne and us – animal networks are the best!

I so want to see your next post entitled “the snail that beat us to Calais!”

    • Animalcouriers July 31, 2014 at 2:27 pm - Reply

He he – there were rather a lot of terrible snail jokes and recipes being bandied around that day so you’re lucky we didn’t share 😉

Typist tried snails once. She wouldn’t recommend them – says they taste just like mushrooms.

I think you should have a contest for the widest eyes – two contenders in this post!

    • Animalcouriers July 31, 2014 at 2:30 pm - Reply

Yes, it would be a contest for the cats really and it’s about time they had their own!

      • Clowie July 31, 2014 at 2:34 pm - Reply

Yes, they don’t really stand a chance in the longest tongue!
