Five cats from Skiathos join our UK-bound trip, as we’re reminded of the film ‘Mamma Mia!’

We sailed to the Greek island of Skiathos to meet Terry and Linda, whose cats Ollie, Ouzo, Daisy, Charlie and Lily are travelling with us to the UK. Terry and Linda have spent nine wonderful years on this stunning island — and even appeared as extras in ‘Mamma Mia!’.

Now, however, they feel it’s time to go back to the UK. Although they’ll miss the weather, the way of life and the friends they’ve made, the pull towards their family in the UK has won out — especially now there’s a grandson in the picture who they want to spend more time with.

If you've seen the film 'Mamma Mia!' you'll remember that at the start the young heroine posts letters to her three possible fathers in a postbox at the foot of this clocktower.

We miss them all so much, our house is very quiet without them. We can’t wait to be reunited at our new home in the UK. Thank you couriers J&M for taking such good care of our fur babies! 🙂 x

You must be rattling around there without your fur babies. All going very well and it won’t be long now!

I had a wonderful holiday in Skiathos in 1967, staying with a local builder who offered to build me a house of my own for £200. I was unwilling to give support to the Colonels though and I turned his offer down. Hmm.

Safe trip to Terry & Linda & all the felines! I think it would be so hard to leave Skiathos…it looks idyllic!!!
But family are important so I can see why they are returning to UK.
Wishing everyone well in the future!

It must be a real wrench to leave such a beautiful place and lifestyle

I don’t see how those people could leave their beautiful home. But family comes first and Greece is a bit far from the UK. The cats are gorgeous.

We'd love to hear from you
