Toffee and Fudge are off to Portugal for their summer holiday

Handsome Chocolate Labradors Toffee and Fudge are travelling from the UK to Portugal with Animalcouriers. These 'frequent flyers' are on their way to spend the summer in Faro. We stopped off at Ciudad Rodrigo in the Salamanca region of Spain for a walk in the sun, and enjoyed admiring the many and varied wild flowers growing in the area. Fudge Toffee The former citadel town of Ciudad Rodrigo The original star-shaped fortifications are still intact Beautiful wild flowers around Ciudad Rodrigo Even prettier in the sunlight This [...]

Meet Deejay from the UK and Clicquot from France

Yellow Labrador Deejay is home boarding with couriers J and R while he waits to travel to Portugal to rejoin Luis in Lisbon. Deejay and house dog Billy have struck up quite a friendship, as you can see below. Meanwhile, handsome tabby cat Clicquot is waiting for us in France. Sara adores him and nothing is too much trouble to ensure his comfort. We'll be collecting him from Le Jardin des Chats cattery near the southern city of Montpellier, and transporting him to the UK, where his ultimate destination is Scotland. We're very excited about meeting him, and hope he enjoys his [...]

News on two of our Greek passengers, Zeus and Erasmia

We recently heard great news about two of our past passengers from Greece. Both were rescue dogs, cared for at the Filozoikos Shelter in Athens, and rehomed in the UK through their support group, Friends of Animals — Nea Filadelfia group. Gentle giant Zeus travelled with us in late 2012 and was adopted by Madelaine in Lincolnshire. He settled in brilliantly and charmed all her friends and family, too. Zeus has shown himself to be very good with cats, prompting Madelaine to consider adopting a kitten. If Zeus is half as good with cats as Erasmia is, it could all work out wonderfully well. This lovely [...]

Eight doves hitch a ride to Oxford

Animalcouriers transported eight darling doves from Hull to the Heythrop Zoological Gardens in Oxford. The birds were very relaxed on their journey — perhaps they thought being chauffer driven was better than flying on such a wet and blustery day! Heythrop is home to Amazing Animals who provide professional training for animals in the media industry. These doves are no exception, as they will soon have starring roles in a short movie. Doves settling in for the journey In case you were wondering, they're not a new species — the yellow and blue marks on their heads are just [...]

Mae moves to the mainland; while pets from Denmark and England settle in Scotland

On her retirement from Kassaro, gorgeous Maine Coon Mae landed on her paws with a new home in West Sussex. Just for one day, courier R exchanged the rigours of driving round the M25 for the excitement of taking a hovercraft from Southsea to the Isle of Wight to collect Mae and deliver her to her new owners. Meanwhile courier S delivered Viggo, Jensen, Wally and Casper to their new Scottish home in Fraserburgh. The dogs were delighted to be back with Bill; the cats showed their appreciation by disappearing from view as they explored their new home. Then it [...]

Reunions in England; and we’re on our way up to Scotland

Animalcouriers reached the UK with our passengers from northern Europe late on Monday night. Yesterday courier M dropped Cha off at kennels in West Sussex where she'll stay until her family, Lisa, Andy and Jessica, have settled into their new home. Courier R collected cats Pierre Joseph and Bruno for delivery to their owner Mircea in London. He also picked up big bunny Macadamia, who will stay with courier R for a couple of days until young Joshua arrives in the UK. Meanwhile, courier S headed north with young Hovawart puppy Cash, whose new home is in Cambridgeshire with Louise; [...]

Meet Cha, Jenson, Viggo, Wally and Casper from Denmark; and Macadamia, Bruno and Pierre Joseph from the Netherlands

Animalcouriers crossed the water from Sweden to Denmark where we called on Lisa, Andy and Jessica to collect their dog Cha, who was adopted by them when she was a street dog in Greece. The family is now returning from Denmark to the UK, and Cha is going on ahead with us to avoid the removal chaos. She'll stay at a kennels in West Sussex until the new family home is ready. The it was on to Esbjerg to collect four pets from Bill, who's had a long association with Denmark but is now returning to Aberdeenshire in Scotland. His [...]

In Sweden it’s goodbye Pumba, hello Cash

Pumba and Animalcouriers set off yesterday morning after a typical Danish breakfast of a pastry and coffee. We crossed from Denmark to Sweden via the majestic Øresund Bridge. If you follow Nordic Noir TV crime dramas, you'll know just which bridge we mean. Despite the haunting theme from the series in question running through our minds as we crossed, we saw no bodies or sinking ships. Madeleine and Paul and their daughter seemed very pleased when they met up with us to collect Pumba. Even Paul was quite smitten — despite attempts to play it all down, he certainly gave [...]

En route for the Nordics with Pumba aboard

Animalcouriers have set off on their latest road trip, that takes them through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and on to Sweden. On board is little Chihuahua Pumba. His owner Tina brought Pumba to us from Bristol, and he is now travelling with us to Gothenburg in Sweden, to live with Tina's sister Madalaine. On the ferry from Puttgarden in Germany to the Danish port of Rodby we watched a crew filming a chap smoking and looking at the sunset. Wonder if it's a follow-up to 'The Bridge'? We'll be crossing that one, the Øresund Bridge, from Denmark to Sweden today. [...]

Hutch hops across the pond to Washington DC

Animalcouriers recently collected Hutch, a handsome young continental rabbit, from in England's West Country and arranged his flight to the US. Hutch's American owner Max wrote to say: "Thank you all so much for the care with my new 'son'. He follows his 'big brother' Odin every where. There was a massive storm so the Customs Agents allowed him to hop around while we waited for it to pass. Finishing touches went on Hutch's custom hide box to match our media room suite. Custom ceramic bowls came from artist. Food ordered, veg purchased — all that is left is playpen and pram!" Max runs The Bunny Hutch, an organisation [...]
