Cappy, Caretta, Scruff and Biff had a very happy reunion with their owners last night. This intrepid quartet started their journey in North Cyprus, from where they flew to Turkey, then on to London. From there, they travelled with Animalcouriers by road to the Nottingham area. All four were originally strays who clearly landed on their paws. As we left, they were getting lots of hugs and cuddles, and doubtless a special supper was on the cards.
Another four adopted strays have stayed on in Cyprus — although their owners were sad to leave them, they felt the cats were too settled to move. Fortunately, a family friend will shortly be moving into their home in Cyprus so their life will continue almost exactly as before. In the meantime, kind foster carers are looking after them.
From Nottingham it was on to Scotland to deliver Rottie Melissa to her new home with Mairi and family. Everyone is very pleased for Melissa that she is with someone who really loves Rotties. Mairi also has an older dog and, although she’s aware that Melissa isn’t too keen on other dogs, she’s determined to make sure Melissa has a friend. We believe Melissa hasn’t been taught to trust other dogs. Everything seems to be going swimmingly so far — Melissa has already been in touch to report on how well she’s settling in:
“Just to let you all know that I’m safe and well in my new home. I have had a busy morning sniffing and bouncing around in the garden. I have played with my new toys and had some kibble and chicken. I have even got round to spilling mum’s mug of tea!!!”
From Melisssa’s home on the west coast we headed to Glasgow to collect darling Bichon Coco Chanel. This glamorous girl is on her way to the south of France for an extended holiday. She’s travelling all the way with us, hopping on board our Europe-bound trip this evening.
