We spent last night near Narbonne; and today we head for Spain

After a fairly long day yesterday, which included dropping off dogs Chipie and Cookies, and cats Emie and Eluka, we reached the southern French town of Narbonne last night. This morning we walked Guiseppe and Arfa through the vineyard and along the canal towpath. Then it was off to deliver three cats before crossing the border into Spain. We reunited Thomas and Henry with Julie, and delivered Pod to Jennifer who is taking care of him until his new home is ready. Guiseppe enjoyed his morning walk — nose up, drinking in the lovely smells of the meadow grass [...]

Biscuit flies to Malta; and Penelope is having a lovely time in Greece

Gorgeous rescue Staffordshire cross Biscuit spent Monday night with Animalcouriers. Yesterday she enjoyed an early morning walk in the English countryside before we took her to London Gatwick airport for her flight to Malta. This lucky girl is off to start a new life with a new family under the Maltese sun. We're sure many happy days await her. Meanwhile we received news and photos of English Bull Terrier Penelope, who recently travelled with us to Greece. She's spending several months in Spetses with her owners Sophie and Matt, and looks set to travel back to the UK with us [...]

Our European trip is underway at last, with Arfa, Guiseppe, Cookies, Chipie, Pod, Shadow, Emie and Eluka

The latest Animalcouriers trip to Europe finally got started last night, after a stop-start sort of a day. We reached Dover to find that P&O had made a considered decision to stop taking pets on their freight route. That left us feeling somewhat panicky until we had a chat with them at their Dover office, from which we came away feeling pleased and relieved to know that P&O still consider Animalcouriers an account partner, and that we could therefore get on board with our precious cargo. Travelling with us are some wonderful dogs and cats including Staffie Arfa, who's heading [...]

Updates on some of our recent passengers; and more puppy scams avoided

We've received some more super photos of Milly and Sofie, two dogs who travelled with us on different trips from Greece, both of whom are well and truly settled into their new homes in England. Lisa also wrote to tell us that her two cats, Lookielikey and Cornflake, who travelled with us from the UK to Portugal. They enjoyed a short stay at the Animal Inn in Guia in the Algarve with Diana and Bungie, before rejoining Lisa in Lagos. Among our other feline passengers were Freddie, Théo, Sophie and Mathilde, who travelled with us from the south of France, [...]

Little Vlads is heading for Bermuda

Eight-week-old Cockadoodle Vlads is travelling all the way from England to Bermuda. Animalcouriers collected this puppy in Lincolnshire and drove him to Surrey, where he'll homeboard with us until his papers are ready for him to fly. We know L will thoroughly enjoy looking after him until he's ready to head off to join his excited new family in Bermuda. We'd like to wish all our followers and friends a very Happy Easter — what better way to celebrate than with a little puppy porn! Vlads settles in for the journey south

Brutus, Jinx, Smokey, Figeac and Lola arrive at their Scottish destinations, and Tau crosses the sea to Northern Ireland

Yesterday Animalcouriers delivered the feline foursome from Liège in Belgium to their new home in Balerno, Scotland. Brutus, Jinx, Smokey and Figeac were delighted to be reunited with their owners and it was cuddles all round. Then it was on to Kinross to deliver lovely Lola to her new Scottish home, where canine and human friends and family gave her a rapturous welcome. This morning we reached Northern Ireland by ferry and enjoyed a stunning drive across moorland and fabulous green green farmland, on the way to deliver Tau to his holiday home near Londonderry. To blow off some steam before [...]

Excited meetings and happy reunions; and Lola and Tau are on board

Animalcouriers set off on a journey through the UK with many of our passengers from Greece, Italy and France. Also on board are a couple of new faces: Lola and Tau. Lovely Lola has a new family waiting for her in Scotland. This large and stunning girl needed more time and attention than her previous family could give her, so they made the brave and responsible decision to find her a more suitable home. There were tears and hugs as she left, and it's clear she'll be greatly missed, but a wonderful new life awaits her in Kinross. Meanwhile Border [...]

Olive, Theo, Freddy, Sophie, Matilda, Iti and Loutou have joined our trip

Yesterday Animalcouriers collected Olive the Pug puppy just up the road from the Italian seaside resort of Rapallo. She's a very confident young pup, who could even be a contender for prime minister in the future! In the meantime, she's practising her skills on us. Later we crossed from Italy into France and spent the night at a quiet Ibis hotel near Bagnoles in the Languedoc-Roussillon. Lisa had her normal half-hour gentle stroll, taking everything in and nosing around in the undergrowth and the edges of the path. Today we collected Louisa's four rescue cats in the pretty Languedoc village [...]

Morning walks and local treats in Ancona

Animalcouriers spent last night in the Italian town of Ancona at our favourite Agroturismo hotel, A3Passi, with its restaurant La Tavola del Carmine. As usual we had a heavenly space for dog walking, through olive groves and up a little hill. While out with the dogs we watched produce being harvested both for sale in their little shop and also for their ever-changing menu. After a breakfast of local yoghurt, their own eggs and home-made bread, we made a trip to the shop to buy honey to take home, and then we were on our way. Walking Lina and Romy together brings [...]

Breakfast in Brindisi, dinner in Ancona

After a somewhat choppy crossing, Animalcouriers docked at the Italian port of Brindisi rather later than expected, having not boarded our ferry from Igoumenitsa until after 2.00am. It was time to walk the dogs, so we headed for breakfast and a doggy leg stretch at a nice hotel we remembered courier S had stayed at. From there we drove towards Ancona where we're spending the night. Our delayed arrival this morning means we haven't got as far as we would have wished. But the late nights and early starts are taking their toll on couriers J and M, so we're [...]
