Sofie and Milly are two of the dogs who recently travelled with us from Greece. We’ve heard from their owners in the UK that both girls are settling brilliantly into their new homes.
Thanks to a call from a concerned citizen, Sofie was rescued by the Filozoikos Shelter from a life of being chained up in a yard. She has now been adopted by Simon and his family and is having many wonderful new experiences, as Simon tells us:
“Sofie seems to be settling really well. She has dealt with the car journey, school run and change of surroundings. I have brought her to work in my office today and she is currently asleep at my feet. Everyone’s making a real fuss of her and we’ll gradually introduce her to the rest of the office dogs.
She has her own bed at home but has decided that she prefers the lounge sofa at night when we’re all in bed, and when she just wants to relax she likes to block the stairs by lying on the mid-landing, half-way up! I think this is a strategy to get her tummy rubbed which she likes to have tickled — a lot. It really makes the children laugh.”
Meanwhile Milly, who’s been adopted by Jan’s mum, has been quick to make herself at home. Jan tells us:
“Milly is such a little sweetie, and has relaxed into her new life effortlessly. I can’t believe (only meeting her today) she’s only been here for one day! She has now met Lola and will soon meet my brother’s Spaniel Bailey. She’s a big part of the family already.”
