With pets collected in France and Belgium, we’re now ready to cross the Channel

Animalcouriers met dogs and cats from Athens and their owners, accompanied by volunteer Susanne, at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. Meanwhile our colleagues from Geodis Freight  met with volunteers Aimilia and Alexandra who accompanied dogs and their owners to Brussels airport. Annelies and her team from Geodis took the pets to their own premises, and watered and walked them while they waited for us to collect them.

We’re now at Calais, checked in and sitting on the dockside. The only sound we can hear from the back is snoring, but we’re not sure who it is!

They all travelled really well. Guess some of the distances to travel in Canada are too much by road! Edible art, without a doubt 😀

I think most people in Canada either take their pets along or they rehome them & sadly sometimes just dump them at Shelters…..
Rarely do we hear of these amazing trips made here. It would drfinitely be a good business to be in & a wonderful service to provide…..alas I am in no shape to start something like this….

Wow what a big bunch! I’m always amazed by animals traveling in the same crate. We did that with our two cats five years ago from Rome-NYC and it was a horrible outcome for their relationship. Do you ever find that happens or was it just our misfortune? 🙂

    • Animalcouriers March 14, 2014 at 3:51 pm - Reply

It was a very large group of animals on a complicated trip. We always enquire whether animals get on before putting them in the same compartment. If we find it doesn’t work then we separate them. Can’t have unhappy bunnies! We wouldn’t advise putting them in the same crate when flying 🙁

All the pets are so gorgeous. It really is good to have able bodied people working with Animal Couriers. I’m sure those good folks enable you to have fewer worries as you transport pets.

It’s great to have partner organisations on complex trips – they can take over aspects that we can’t stretch to and it really does take away the worries.

You have some lovely travellers on this trip.
That apple puff looks almost too good to eat, but not quite!!

    • Animalcouriers March 14, 2014 at 3:53 pm - Reply

Glad you added the ‘not quite’ Clowie – we’d have to check your temperature otherwise 😉

Thanks Mélanie – some trips are more complex than others 😉

Those are the biggest crates I’ve ever seen! I wonder what size they’d be for a Great Dane… or a horse? 😉

    • Animalcouriers March 14, 2014 at 3:56 pm - Reply

They are rather large! Imagine how many of Sissy you’d get in there 😀

      • Gunta March 14, 2014 at 6:12 pm - Reply

Sissy is one of a kind, but I could get in there with her? 😀

Oh how can you manage another day? Kitties, Furry Dog friends, and pastry Art work…..you job is really tiring..NOT! I showed my hubby the photo of Gracie, Tiger & Mouser because the two that don’t have room on the pillow have funny looks on their faces…LOL. We may have this problem on our bed too 😉

We'd love to hear from you
