Safe arrival in the UK of our Greek contingent

Animalcouriers reached Treetops Kennels in Surrey at 9.45pm yesterday. We and our passengers who had travelled from Greece — Carmel, Dimos, Melissa, Stella and Zorba — received a warm welcome from Conrad of the Filozoikos support team, and Chris and his staff from Treetops, who'd kindly stayed open late to greet us. As we left, all five dogs were being fed and tucked up for the night. Dimos Stella — still keen to go shopping! Carmel Melissa Zorba

Melissa, Stella, Dimos, Carmel and Zorba fly from Athens to Paris

This morning Animalcouriers were up bright and early to collect five dogs at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport who've undertaken their own odyssey to reach their new homes in the UK. Kiki, Martha and the rest of the Filozoikos team were up just as early, getting the dogs ready for their flight. As usual, every dog was sporting his or her own personal 'good luck' collar and bow, lovingly made by Martha. A stately procession of dogs in travel boxes, accompanied by Nell and Alex All the travel boxes were on the large side, so we worked [...]

Bono flies to Melbourne; Cassie, Nya and three cats fly to Sydney; and Capability flies to Bermuda

While couriers J, M and S have been collecting and delivering pets around Europe, courier L has been arranging flights and paperwork for other pets leaving the UK and going further afield, assisted by courier R doing the airport runs. Gorgeous one-year-old Tibetan Mastiff Bono flew to Melbourne in Australia with Qantas. During the preparations for his flight, he lodged with Jenny, who was understandably sad when it was time to say goodbye. However, his new owner Charmaine, who runs the Temzin Tibetan Masiff Kennels, has been counting down the days until his arrival. The wait is almost over, as [...]

Reunions for Miauf and Kika, Pickle and Trouble

Black cat Miauf and her Labrador companion Kika were reunited with their owners yesterday. Diana and her husband moved to the UK ahead of their pets, and have had time to settle in and start their jobs in nursing and physiology. They tell us there's another dog waiting for Kika at home in Reading — a Golden Retriever. We sensed Kika was good with other dogs and now we know why. Kika was very excited to see her family — lots of licks, kisses and turning in circles Miauf is ready for the off Goodbye [...]

Phoebe is emigrating from France to Australia, via the UK

Pretty tabby-and-white cat Phoebe and her owner Liz have been living in beautiful rural Flayat in the Limousin region of France. Now they're relocating to the Yarra Valley, near Melbourne in Australia. When Liz started organising Phoebe's travel, she struggled to find a local vet who could steer her through the Australian import process. Things got off to a less-than-brilliant start when the vet forgot to put the date of Phoebe's rabies vaccination on her RNATT (Rabies Neutralising Antibody Titre Test) declaration that's required by the Australian authorities as part of the import application. Somewhat frustrated, Liz contacted Animalcouriers for [...]

Super-size Sultan sets off for Sri Lanka

Anatolian Shepherd Dog puppy Sultan has a long journey ahead, from France, via the UK, and all the way to Sri Lanka. Animalcouriers accompanied him to the vet's office in Rodez yesterday morning, where the final documents were signed and stamped. Then it was a final goodbye to Sultan's lovely breeder, and off we headed towards Calais. To meet Sri Lankan entry and quarantine requirements. we'll travel non stop from Calais this evening in Animalcouriers' special quarantine van straight to London's Heathrow airport. Sultan will stay in the quarantine section of the airport's animal reception centre, ready to fly on [...]

The Brady Bunch are reunited in Geneva

The A40 lived up to its name as the Autoroute Blanche as Animalcouriers headed towards Geneva under falling snow. Accompanied by a snow plough we reached the city to find it bathed in sunlight — a perfect setting for Minnie, Mushy, Daisy and Rafiki to be reunited with their owners. Minnie and Daisy enjoying cuddles in the fresh mountain air Mushy's turn for a welcome hug Rafiki leaps and twists for joy Our journey along the Autoroute Blanche

Fluffy and Raf join our trip in Alicante

We called in to collect cats Fluffy and Raf in the Alicante region of Spain. Their owner Helen moved to Cheltenham in January, and her cats have been looked after by Lesley and Mick at their little cattery near Onil in the meantime. Lesley loves animals, and cats are her hobby. She also has chickens, doves and a dog! Last night we stayed at a very Spanish motel on the edge of the A3 Valencia–Madrid road, where there was a warm welcome for us. We watched a lively football match on TV between Madrid and Barcelona and enjoyed a very Valencian evening [...]

Arletta reaches her new home in Luxembourg

We delivered lovely Arletta to her owners who've relocated from Wales to Luxembourg. She was on the same trip as Minnie, Mushy, Daisy and Rafiki, aka the Brady Bunch. Arletta was glad to be travelling in style in her own private compartment as these four hounds have been quite boisterous on the trip — both girls are on heat so we've been careful to keep them apart from the boys. Last night we reached Dijon in France, and will be delivering the dogs to their new home in Geneva today. Arletta, glad not to be part of the Brady Bunch [...]
