Among our Greek passengers are young Hector and Kalista, a pair of nearly blind kittens from the Greek island of Paros. Fortunately, they came to the attention of the Paros Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and are now on their way to a new home in Ireland. They’ve been adopted by the amazing Ann and Trevor who have a wonderful menagerie of pets,  many of whom have eyesight problems or other special needs, among them ArisGinger, Angel and Stevie who travelled from Greece with Animalcouriers on previous trips (you can keep up with them all on the 4Poshpaws facebook page).

Lena from PAWS tells us more about Hector and Kalista, and has shared some photos that chart their recovery from their very poor start in life:

“The kittens were found blind and starving at a beach club on the island of Paros, Greece, this summer, with hundreds of people going by and no one stopping to rescue them except one kind person who alerted us in early September, but it was too late — their infection had already blinded them. Now two months later they have gained weight and confidence and are on their way to their new lovely home with Ann and Trevor in Ireland and treatment of their eyes. Bon voyage everyone!”
